Lucky Girl

If your TikTok "For You Page" hasn't come across the "Lucky Girl Syndrome" trend, you're missing out! Here's the backstory: The trend started when two girls (@skzzolno) eating Chinese takeout in their car uploaded a video on TikTok. They casually discussed how they transformed their lives by repeating affirmations about being lucky. Some of these phrases were "I don't know why, but everything just works out for me," and "I'm so lucky that everything works out."

Their video went viral on the platform, influencing many women to take on the "lucky girl" challenge themselves. A lot of them shared their experience with the so-called "syndrome," telling others how they were able to improve their mindset and even have lucky encounters in life.

But how exactly do you get lucky girl syndrome?

How To Activate Lucky Girl Syndrome

It's a new year, which means you likely have goals or resolutions you want to achieve. Implementing this trend into your life can definitely help you achieve those objectives since the affirmations themselves can help you become more confident. So, without further adieu, here's what you need to do to become a lucky girl!

Repeat Affirmations

Spilled your coffee? Hit a pothole while you were driving? Whatever the obstacle is that you might have come across, learn to accept it and follow it with positive affirmations. You may not believe your own words at first, but the more you repeat them, the more you’ll feel them as true. Here are some of the phrases you should add to your daily life.

  • “I’m so lucky everything works out for me.”

  • “I’m the luckiest person I know.”

  • “I’m so lucky, and I deserve it.”

  • “I always have good luck on my side.”

  • “I deserve the best, and I get everything I desire.”

  • “Everything happens in perfect timing."

  • “Why am I so lucky? It’s crazy!"

  • “I don’t have to worry because I know I’m lucky.”

Meditate

It’s hard to repeat and stay conscious of your emotions when you’re not staying present most of the time. Most people identify with their anxiety and stressful emotions, and this can get in the way of the lucky girl mindset. Fortunately, meditation can help with your attention. Start the practice and do it for at least 15 minutes a day. Meditating reduces distractions and increases focus – meaning you’ll have more willpower and energy to focus on the positive affirmations rather than the negative thoughts you may be having.

Journal

If the affirmations are not enough, you can journal instead. First, imagine what a lucky girl looks like to you. Then, write as if you are that girl right now, but do it in the present tense! For example, let’s say you want a Chanel bag. In this case, you’d write something like, “I’m so incredibly lucky that I was gifted a pink Chanel bag!” Even if you’re having some doubts while you’re writing, it’s okay – just have fun with it.

Closing Thoughts

Shifting your perception can really change your life. Your thoughts are incredibly powerful, and it's important we pay attention to them more so that we can become our desired version of ourselves.
