Is Daisy Kent The Most Wholesome “Bachelor” Contestant Ever? Here's What We Know
Daisy Kent of “The Bachelor” is one of the most popular contestants the reality show has seen in years, and it’s not hard to see why.
Something feels different about this season of The Bachelor. The show has the best lead in recent memory with Bachelor Joey Graziadei, and it also has some of the sweetest contestants we’ve seen in years.
Daisy Kent, 25, has emerged as the fan favorite so far, with her Instagram growth (as of writing this, she has 304k followers) being the quickest since Hannah Ann Sluss and Madison Prewett from Peter Weber’s season in 2020. When you look into Daisy’s background, it’s easy to see why. She might be the most wholesome contestant on The Bachelor in some time, and we’re obsessed with her.
According to her profile on the ABC website, “Daisy is SO ready to find the one. She comes from a big, loving family, and her parents' 30-plus-year marriage has been the blueprint for the kind of love she wants for herself. Daisy has been through a lot in life and is ready for a man that will truly put her first. She's looking for a partner who is loyal, adventurous, and family-oriented, and will be there for her no matter what. The account executive's childhood was like a storybook growing up on a Christmas tree farm, and now Daisy is hoping to find her fairy-tale ending.”
She seems to be Joey’s perfect match from her bio alone, but there’s much more to her than meets the eye.
Daisy Kent’s Life Before The Bachelor
Daisy is an author, nonprofit owner, and account executive from Becker, Minnesota, but she currently lives in San Diego. According to her LinkedIn profile, she majored in communications, digital, and social media at San Diego State University, where she was a member of the Alpha Phi sorority.
In her introduction package and her one-on-one date with Joey, Daisy opened up about getting a cochlear implant when she started losing her hearing after being diagnosed with Lyme disease and Meniere’s disease, a condition of the inner ear. She has shared details about her condition on TikTok, where she has amassed 196k followers. In a viral TikTok, she says, “I started losing my hearing when I was 15, and then when I was 17, I was diagnosed with Meniere's disease. I used to have a lot of vertigo, and I still get it sometimes, but not as bad as I used to have it. It’s really rare to be 17 and have Meniere’s disease, even to be 25 and have Meniere’s disease. It usually only happens to people later in life.”
Daisy continues, “Meniere’s disease is a disorder of the inner ear, and for me, it’s mainly decreased my hearing. It causes a lot of pressure in my head, vertigo, and a ton of tinnitus. My left ear, since I got my implant, I don’t have as much ringing in my ear, but my right ear, I have a ton of ringing.”
In 2021, Daisy’s health hit an all-time low, and she went to Germany to get intensive treatment for Lyme disease. Luckily, the treatment worked, and her health has improved since then. On Instagram, she wrote, “My time in Germany has given me a different perspective on illness and a thankfulness that goes beyond my explanation. I won’t ever be able to put into words what my body went through this last month. Emotionally, I’m still in the process of comprehending everything, and I’m sure that will come with time.”
Shortly after she finished treatment, Daisy founded the nonprofit Hear Your Heart. According to her LinkedIn profile, “It’s a nonprofit organization created to help support children who have autoimmune disorders or hearing loss. We help give children medical assistance, funds for future education, and bring awareness to mental health for children and families. Hear Your Heart believes every child should live their life to the fullest. We are striving to encompass what it truly means to Hear Your Heart, challenging all to listen inward and explore all options.”
After getting her cochlear implant in 2022, she wrote the children’s book Daisy Doo: All The Sounds She Knew, which is about a little girl named Daisy who rediscovers her hearing after getting a cochlear implant. Daisy is dedicated to empowering others with her condition and similar conditions, and it’s one of the many reasons why Bachelor fans are loving her.
Why Fans Are Loving Daisy
Fans love Bachelor lead Joey because he’s genuine and feels similar to old-school leads like Sean Lowe and Ben Higgins, and Daisy has a similar personality to fan favorites from previous seasons like JoJo Fletcher and Becca Tilley. Many contestants go on the show simply to become influencers, and while it’s possible that that was part of Daisy’s motivation to apply, it’s clear she wants to find love. She comes across as genuine, real, and positive, and fans love her for it.
Like every season of The Bachelor, there’s drama among the women in the house, but Daisy stays out of it. She’s more focused on her relationship with Joey (so much so that she asked him how he was doing during a recent cocktail party) and appears to be friendly with every woman on the show. You’d think that her lack of drama would cause her to have fewer followers due to less screen time, but she has the most followers on both Instagram and TikTok of all the women in her season.
Daisy also has a great sense of style, adding another layer to her girl-next-door persona. Her style is the perfect mix of classy, trendy, and preppy with bright colors and feminine silhouettes. Her positive attitude is so infectious that it’s impossible not to smile whenever she’s on screen, adding to her wholesome vibe. She’s not crass and brings warmth to the show, making her a stellar model of wholesome femininity.
It’s impossible not to root for Daisy, and her chemistry with Joey is unmatched. They seem like the perfect couple with their mutual values of family, kindness, and staying positive through difficult times, which makes us love them together even more. We hope to see her make it far this season and maybe even get the final rose from Joey! If she doesn't, however, we can't say we wouldn't also love to see her as the next Bachelorette...
