In September 2022, Adam Levine's name was splattered all over headline news for days after a TikToker spilled the beans about the affair she had with him. Sumner Stroh, 23, is a model with almost 1 million followers on TikTok and Instagram combined. She shared screenshots of her messages with Adam, revealing that they were having an affair and he even asked if he could name his son after her. “I’m having another baby and if it’s [a] boy I really wanna name it Sumner. You ok with that? DEAD serious," he wrote to her. "I'm in hell," she said in the TikTok video. Adam continuously sent her messages even after their affair was over. He has been married to Behati Prinsloo since 2014, and they have two children together. People were appalled that Adam would continue this kind of relationship with Sumner while being a husband and a father, just like they were appalled at the fact that Sumner would participate in it. She claimed she was "manipulated" because Adam said that he and his wife were no longer together.

Adam Levine's Ex-Mistress Releases Song About Their Affair in Response to the "Mass Scale of Ridicule and Shaming"

Sumner posted a video on her TikTok on Tuesday and shared that she has released a new single that was written as a response to the backlash over her affair with Adam. "I know I should have said my peace a long time ago, but now I'm ready," she said. "Rather than give into this bandwagon, mob mentality, cancel culture, I wanted to instead write a song." She said people tend to jump too quickly to conclusions about people without knowing the context of the situation or the fullness of their character.

"After facing, like, this mass scale of ridicule and shame—shaming, I should say—I hope that at least something good could come from this and maybe you could think twice before you go and comment on someone's photo or TikTok or be quick to pass judgment," she said.

The song is called "Love to Hate," and the lyrics are "I let you break me, made me do things that I shouldn't do / You love to hate me, well I hate to give you the news / That you can't make me hate me too / I'm the b*tch they love to hate / Burn the witch right at the stake." She also sings about how people use their words to hurt her and they preach "in the name of sacred positivity," adding that people really just want to be her even though they make fun of her appearance. "Hate me baby it's okay / Hate my big heart / Inside these big tits / Hate these fake lips / Blow you a fat kiss."

People in the comment section are accusing her of just seeking attention and her "15 minutes of fame," but others are supportive and encourage her to keep growing because everyone makes mistakes. While it's perfectly plausible that Adam told Sumner he and Behati were breaking up, that still doesn't explain why Sumner would choose to have a romantic relationship with him. Why did she agree to be intimate with him knowing that he was still married (even if only legally) and had children? She willingly put herself in a position that would make her the mistress, and she is still attempting to shirk responsibility and put the blame all on Adam for tricking her. Her actions don't mean that people need to be cruel to her or call her names, but we have to admit that there are certain actions in life that will naturally result in feelings of shame—like having sex with a famous married father.
