Sick of remakes yet?

According to Deadline, the beloved vampire movie series will be turned into an animated series. Lionsgate's Vice Chairman Michael Burns revealed the news during a Q&A at the Morgan Stanley media conference. Oh, and he also says that John Wick will get an expansion as well.

“We’re going to go out with the Twilight series, an animated series. I think there’ll be a lot of interest in that,” he said. As for John Wick, Burns added, “I think we’ll take one of our great action franchises starring Keanu Reeves, I think it’ll be a television series.”

The reaction to this announcement is mixed. Some Twilight fans might tune in to see Edward and Bella's romance retold, while others are sick of the endless remakes. @tylerduran21 on X tweeted, "reboots, new seasons, bad live actions, unnecessary animated remakes WHEN WILL IT FREAKING END."

@moonlighttsouls commented, "I might actually watch that."

Others are asking whether the series will be for adults or children.

"Are they making it for kids or for adults? Cause I don't understand the targeted audience for that?" asked @Unbelievable_cl.

Now, I usually can't stand remakes, but I do not doubt that many Twilight fans will watch the animated version.

Not much is known yet about the Twilight remake, other than the series would be based on the Stephanie Meyers books. There is no writer or network/streaming service attached to the project at this time.

According to Variety, Wyck Godfrey and Erik Feig are attached as executive producers. "Feig is the former co-president of Lionsgate Motion Picture Group, while Godfrey and his Temple Hill production company produced the five Twilight films," the outlet reports. "Meyers is also expected to be involved in any potential series."
