Yes, the WAG era is back, but Hailee Steinfeld and Bills quarterback Josh Allen are playing it differently. Married earlier this year and notoriously private, they share just enough to show a relationship built on steady, unmistakable support. Add Hailee’s Sinners momentum to Josh’s MVP year, and you’ve got a duo firmly in their prime.

So how did it all unfold? Here’s their official relationship timeline.

May 2023: Sources Confirm Josh and Hailee Are Dating

After the New York Post published photos of the pair together in New York City, rumors started swirling that the two were an item. A few days later, a source told People that the two had been dating for a “few weeks” and were “having fun.” In June, another source told Us Weekly that the pair had been dating for a month and that regarding Hailee, “Josh is the first guy in a while she’s been really interested in.”

September 2023: Josh Publicly Discusses Their Relationship

A few months after they started dating, Josh was asked about the relationship on the popular Barstool Sports podcast, Pardon My Take. Josh was vocal about how he didn’t appreciate how much the paparazzi loved to crash their dates and that it “blew his mind” that his personal life was so interesting to the public. Regardless of the privacy issues, Josh seemed smitten with the relationship.

October 2023: Josh and Hailee Make Their First Public Appearance At A Buffalo Sabres Game

After months of being hounded by photographers, Josh and Hailee made their first public appearance at a Buffalo Sabres hockey game only five months after they were first spotted together. Josh’s attendance was no surprise to fans, for it’s normal for a quarterback of a football franchise to make an appearance at another sporting event for his city, but Hailee’s appearance hinted at the couple getting more serious.

February 2024: Source Claims Josh and Hailee Are In A “Serious Relationship”

Just months after their first public appearance, a source told People that the famously quiet couple were in a “serious relationship.” The source also said, "They always planned to spend more time together after his season ended. Things have been going really well. They’re both very family-oriented and driven, and they want to protect their relationship and keep it private. They’ve been on the same page with all of that."

The source concluded with a promising future for the couple: "Hailee’s in a great place and would love to settle down if it’s with the right guy.”

July 2024: Josh and Hailee Go Instagram Official

After dating for over a year, they pressed "post" and went Instagram official. Josh debuted a carousel of his offseason that featured several pictures of Hailee, including one of the couple romantically embracing in Paris while admiring the Eiffel Tower.

November 2024: Josh and Hailee Get Engaged

Josh surprised Hailee by proposing to her during a Malibu vacation last November. When asked if she knew the proposal was coming, she responded, "Oh my God, no! You talk to your girlfriends about that, right, where you're like, 'I just don't want to know.'"

She continued, “We were in Malibu, which is my happy place, and it was magical. That’s the word."

They announced it with a joint Instagram post featuring a tender, post-proposal embrace. The photo cleared two million likes and drew cheers from Chloë Grace Moretz to Serena Williams; Hollywood and the sports world equally smitten.

February 2025: Josh and Hailey Make Their First Red Carpet Debut

Most celebrity couples hit the red carpet long before the ring; Josh and Hailee flipped the script. Their debut came at the 2024 NFL Honors, the same night he was crowned MVP. He thanked Hailee in his acceptance speech, saying, “Last but not least, my fiancée, Hailee, you’ve been my rock, you’re my best friend, and I wouldn’t be standing on this stage if it weren’t for you.”

Hailee later told E! News, “To say the least, I am so proud of that man. Everything he’s done and everything that the team has done together, he is the hardest working person I know." She also posted a photo of Josh accepting the award to her Instagram, captioning it, “That’s MVP Josh Allen to you!”

May 2025: Josh and Hailee Get Married

The couple wed in an intimate yet stunning romantic garden ceremony in Santa Barbara, California. According to The Wed, it was a phone-free event (no surprise there.) Hailee’s stunning strapless gown was designed by Tamara Ralph. The singer-actress kept her accessories simple yet elegant with white opera-length gloves and a veil of French Chantilly lace. Josh also showed off his sense of style in a custom Tom Ford tux. Some of the celebrity guests included friends of Hailee’s, like Larry David and Josh’s teammates, like Buffalo Bills backup quarterback Mitch Trubisky.

Hailee took to Instagram to post a collage of candid Polaroid pictures from the wedding nearly a month after the nuptials, while Josh did the same with a collage of photos that appeared to be taken on their honeymoon. Hailee’s post was captioned, “HUSBAND!” and Josh’s said, “Wifey.”

September 2025: Josh Gushes Over Hailee’s Success In Sinners

Josh praised Hailee’s performance in Sinners during an episode of HBO’s Hard Knocks: Training Camp With The Buffalo Bills. When asked to give a quick review of the film, he said, “A+ because it combines a lot of different aspects of life. My wife absolutely kills it. And hopefully with award season coming around, people will make the right decision.”

When asked if it was accurate to say that he was the second-most talented person in his marriage, he said, “A thousand percent. I’m okay with it. When we watched it at the premiere, I was crying at the end. I was just so proud of her, and I get so emotional thinking about it. It was a pretty cool experience."

There’s something refreshing about a hyper-masculine NFL quarterback who champions his wife’s success—no ego, no theatrics—and a leading lady just as loud for his. Both are at the top of their game, and marriage still gets the prime slot. With kickoff here for fall season, consider us tuned in for the little things: quick crowd shots, postgame praise, and a reminder that real power looks like mutual support.
