We've seen some memorable themes from past Met Galas, like the 2022 theme of "gilded glamour, white tie" that resulted in Blake Lively's showstopping gown that had a color change halfway through her walk on the red carpet. The 2023 Met Gala's theme is Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty, celebrating the legacy that he left behind when he died in 2019. The red carpet was full of Lagerfeld looks that were daring, beautiful, and timeless. Here's a roundup of the most feminine gowns.

Sydney Sweeney

The sequined, nude-pink gown was complemented with a black bow around her knees that matched the black bow in her hair. The mermaid skirt added a special touch and her hair was voluminous and wavy.

Imaan Hammam

Imaan's gown was simple, chic, and timeless, with pearl-like beads around the waist in an asymmetrical pattern.

Irina Shayk

With roses around the neckline and a cinched waist, Irina's white gown looked elegant and unique. Her hair was simply slicked back and she paired it with a deep red lip.

Nicole Kidman

Fans went crazy when they saw Nicole wearing the same dress she wore in a Chanel perfume ad in 2004. She gave it a modern twist with a different hairstyle.

Dua Lipa

Dua showed up looking like a modern princess. Her white gown had black detailing around the neckline and V-shape waistline. The skirt was full and voluminous and her hair cascaded down her shoulders in gorgeous waves.

Penelope Cruz

Penelope's gown had a beautiful head covering and a sequined belt that sat on top of a full, princess skirt.

Alia Bhatt

Another princess sighting with Alia's white gown that had thin straps and a scoop neck, complete with a long train with beautiful beading.

Kate Moss

Kate pulls off a spaghetti-strapped gown with large sheer drop sleeves that fell down to the floor. The lace neckline looked pretty with an asymmetrical cinched waist.

Gisele Bündchen

Although we're used to seeing her on the red carpet with ex-husband Tom Brady, Gisele showed up to the Met Gala solo looking gorgeous in a white, sparkly gown with a stunning feathered cape.

Suki Waterhouse

Suki's nude dress with elaborate flower details paired perfectly with her bold makeup and luminous skin. Her hair was simply parted down the middle and gently curled.

Jessica Chastain

This was a different look for Jessica but it worked beautifully. Her black strapless gown had a multi-tiered skirt and sheer black gloves. She dyed her hair platinum blonde and wore a smoky eye to match the ensemble.

Kylie Jenner

The youngest of the Kardashian-Jenner brood brought some color to the red carpet, along with curves and a gorgeous asymmetrical neckline.

Naomi Campbell

Naomi looked radiant in a peach asymmetrical gown that had silver detailing on the right side of her upper chest.
