After the Golden Globes, SAG Awards, BAFTAs, and more, everyone has been waiting for the grand finale: the Academy Awards. Last year, the event was overshadowed by that infamous slap heard around the world. Will Smith got up from his seat and slapped Chris Rock square across the face while he was presenting an award for a joke he made about Jada Pinkett Smith. Aside from all the drama, the Oscars is always known as one of the biggest fashion events of the year, and we can only assume that the actors save their most gorgeous outfit for this night. We've seen some beautiful dresses so far this award season, but they really did save the best for last.

Emily Blunt

The Sicario actress always has a wonderful sense of style, and Sunday night was no different. She went with a simple strapless white gown with sleeves, and her hair was pulled back to show gorgeous dangling earrings.

Jessica Chastain

She has been stunning on the red carpet for years, and this time Jessica Chastain chose a shimmering gown with a black accent around her neckline and train. She let her hair fall down in old Hollywood waves and paired it all with a classic red lip.

Angela Basett

It was nice to see a pop of color on the red carpet—and Angela Bassett pulled it off beautifully. Her purple dress had an asymmetrical, voluminous neckline and a mermaid skirt.

Ana de Armas

Nominated for an Oscar for her lead performance in Blonde, Ana de Armas delivered on the fashion front this year. Her nude gown had sequined detailing and a layered skirt. She wore her hair a bit different than we're used to seeing: sleek, parted in the middle, with soft waves at the very end.

Michelle Yeoh

Princess sighting! Michelle's white, sequined dress with elegant fringe detailing went perfectly with her delicate tiara.

Halle Bailey

The Little Mermaid star stunned in a turquoise dress with a sheer, corset top and full skirt. It was a modern take on Disney princess.

Cara Delevingne

Model Cara Delevingne went big this year with a showstopping red gown that had an asymmetrical neckline that ended with a large flower on her shoulder. It was fitted around her waist, then opened up into a full skirt, complete with a thigh-high slit.

Michelle Williams

Michelle Williams, who starred in The Fabelmans, looked radiant and elegant in a white and silver dress that had a sheer cape cascading from her neck.

Vanessa Hudgens

She was interviewing stars on the red carpet about their outfits, but Vanessa Hudgens arrived in an eye-catching look of her own. It was a black strapless gown with a white accent at the neckline and hemline. She pulled her hair back in an elegant bun.

Rihanna

After her Super Bowl performance where she debuted her second pregnancy, Rihanna has been generous in showing the public her growing baby bump. Her Oscars dress, designed by Alaïa, was half sheer and had a wrap design around her hips. She had her hair in a messy bun and completed the look with red lipstick.
