Award season is upon us, which means there are all sorts of outfits to judge from our couch in our pajamas. At the SAG Awards on Sunday night, a host of A-list actors stepped out in their very best attire to hear who would be honored by the 12,000 members of SAG-AFTRA that vote on the awards. Sally Field was given a SAG Life Achievement Award, Brendan Fraser was awarded best male actor in a leading role for his portray in The Whale, Michelle Yeoh took home best female actor in a leading role for Everything Everywhere All at Once, and The White Lotus was voted best drama series ensemble.

Meanwhile, there were some truly stunning outfits on the red carpet. But first, we have to admit there were some not-so-great options that showed up in front of the camera.

The Worst Dressed at the SAG Awards 2023

Michelle Yeoh

She took home the coveted award for best female actor in a leading role, but Michelle Yeoh's dress left many confused. Her dress was black and strapless, but along the front, from her neck to her ankles, was a mass of confetti that resembled the remnants of paper left in a shredder. With a beautiful figure like hers, you have to wonder why she would hide it with such a strange ensemble.

Amanda Seyfried

Amanda Seyfried is known for her beauty and generally good fashion sense. But her SAG Awards Prada dress was a bit of a flop. The color was a beautiful green shade that went nicely with her porcelain skin, but the fit was all wrong. It was a high neckline with spaghetti straps, but the dress was baggy and ill-fitting. The length hit mid-thigh, and it had a large bow on the back that trailed on the floor.

Aubrey Plaza

The White Lotus star Aubrey Plaza showed up in a brown gown with criss-cross straps that were unflattering at best. There's certainly a way for cutouts to look pretty, but this dress left almost her whole belly exposed, along with a thigh-high slit right in the middle of her legs. Not her best look.

Rooney Mara

Known for her unique fashion choices, Rooney Mara likes to take risks on the red carpet. Sometimes these risks pay off, but the SAG Awards didn't quite work out that way. She wore an Alexander McQueen gown with black-and-white lace detailing and some fringe work in the skirt. It looked like an oversized nightgown, and her hair and makeup were lacking as well.

Patricia Arquette

The pale green color wasn't very pleasant to look at, and Patricia Arquette's dress didn't fit her figure well. The whole look was a bit outdated and actually aged her.

Hong Chau

The Menu actress looked like she left the house in a hurry, wearing a lingerie top with a skirt she fished out of her closet. The outfit wasn't fit very well to her body, and the color washed out her skin tone.

Jenna Ortega

Jenna Ortega wore a black strapless gown with an asymmetrical neckline and a high-low skirt, but the ensemble wasn't very flattering and didn't complement her figure. Many said it was a nod to her Wednesday Addams character.

Antonia Gentry

Known for her role in the Netflix series Ginny & Georgia, Antonia Gentry showed up on the red carpet wearing a light lavender strapless gown with a cutout in her midsection. The color was pretty, but the upper half of the dress was plain and unflattering for her beautiful figure.

The It Girl never disappoints. Zendaya wore a custom Valentino Haute couture gown; it was a strapless, light pink dress with a corset top and rose-covered skirt. Her hair was a nod to old Hollywood, and she paired it with a beautiful jeweled necklace.

Jessica Chastain

Award-winning actress Jessica Chastain took home another honor on Sunday night: best female actor in a television movie or limited series for her work in George & Tammy. She wore a Zuhair Murad gown that was a bright pink color, with an asymmetrical neckline, cinched waist, and a full skirt. It was the perfect color for her skin tone, and she wore matching lipstick and long, straightened hair.

Niecy Nash-Betts

Yellow is not an easy color to pull off, but Niecy Nash-Betts managed to make it look classy and elegant. Her strapless custom Vera Wang gown had a sheer outer layer along with a cinched waist. Gorgeous!

Haley Lu Richardson

It was a bold choice, but it paid off for The White Lotus actress. Her Carolina Herrera gown was black and strapless with gradient white beading. She carried a matching purse, pulled her hair back, and paired it all with red lipstick.

Cara Delevingne

Here's another Carolina Herrera ensemble, but the outfit that Cara Delevingne wore was a dress paired with slim pants. The plunging neckline had a large flower at the center of her chest, and the opening of the skirt revealed matching black pants. It was elegant and looked lovely with her long, slender figure.

Viola Davis

Another yellow ensemble was put together beautifully for Viola Davis. She wore a Valentino dress that was long-sleeved with a full skirt. She kept her neckline bare and paired the gown with hoop earrings and a wavy bob.

Cate Blanchett

Leave it to Cate Blanchett to pull off a black leather dress that has lace detailing in the neck and chest area. Her Giorgio Armani Privé gown was slim fitting and hugged her hips. She kept her makeup simple and left her hair fall in waves.
