Who knew a movie about child sex trafficking would cause so much chaos? Not only has Sound of Freedom been criticized for its message and linked to QAnon – viewers are now reporting that the film is getting interrupted in movie theaters across the U.S.

In case you're not in the loop, Sound of Freedom aims to raise awareness about the dark reality of sex trafficking, but instead of getting support, it's currently facing a lot of opposition. Recently, a pedophilia sympathizer from Bloomberg published a think piece on the movie, dubbing it a "QAnon dog whistle" that does "nothing" to "help victims." Now, people are suggesting that these attacks are also happening during movie screenings.

Multiple social media users are posting videos on TikTok to show all the strange mishaps that have been going on inside movie theaters. Some of them say they experienced sudden technical problems. Others mention hearing weird noises or even experiencing power outages. Note that these occurrences aren’t rare, so it's difficult to brush them off as mere coincidences – is it possible something or someone is deliberately causing these disruptions?

Let's take a look at what some of the viewers have to say.

Theater Refunds Customer's Tickets for "Sound of Freedom"

According to a woman who attempted to see the film, the theater refunded her and her friends' tickets. Their excuse? The air conditioners weren't working. "There was air conditioning in the lobby," the woman explains. "There was air conditioning in the hallways. There was air conditioning in the bathrooms – not the theaters."

In the video above, a man added that the website showed that all the seats were nearly sold out when he got the tickets online. However, when he got there with his girlfriend, only eight other people were in the audience. How strange.

Viewers Get Evacuated for Unknown Emergencies

A woman named Darcy showcased her experience at a movie theater last week, and she recorded the alarms going off at the cinema. Apparently, everyone got evacuated an hour and 20 minutes into the movie (Sound of Freedom is over two hours long).

"I've been seeing all over TikTok that people are going to watch the movie the Sound of Freedom, and these weird things are happening, like random emergency evacuations, the air conditioning not working, and having to leave the theater," Darcy said. "And I thought, 'No, that's probably just something that's happening in other theaters in other places.'"

She continued, "So, I took me and my daughters to go watch the Sound of Freedom today, and about an hour and 20 minutes into the movie, we get a random emergency evacuation. None of the staff knows what's going on. The mall wasn't being evacuated, just the theater. All they did was refund us our money with no explanation."

Sudden Screen Issues

@Purplepunch36 on Reddit says his friend experienced the infamous "screen issue" when he saw the film. He uploaded a screenshot of a post that his buddy shared on Facebook, who wrote, "Sound of Freedom showed sold out online. We got here and the seats are empty. 15 minute start delay and then this guy comes in and says the projector is broken!!"

The Movie Randomly Shuts Off

@lilyyana_xoxo on TikTok uploaded a video showing the film playing on the big screen. The next clip is a dark room with nothing on it, followed by a fully-lit room with audience members still seated. "They stopped playing the movie multiple times," alleges the TikToker. "They said there was a 'problem.' If you go see it, stay until the end."

A woman named Brianna had a similar experience. In her video, she wrote that the movie "just shut off," and the employees "blamed it on the weather, but two theaters beside ours were still playing."

"In the middle of the movie, it just shut off and all the lights were turned on," Brianna added in her caption. "No one came in and we had to tell the front desk who said it was due to the weather."

"Sound of Freedom" Gets Restarted

@toataua35 uploaded a video of an employee explaining that they would restart the movie, though they didn't explain why. "Why cinema working with the feds?" the TikToker wrote in his caption.

The Interruptions Are Endless

From terrible smells to out-of-order restrooms, Sound of Freedom fans across America are experiencing odd interruptions.

If you take a look at the comments on some of these videos, many believe that this is all planned by the theaters themselves, perhaps because they don't want the film's message to get out. On the other hand, some people think it's just random technical issues and not part of a bigger plan, but with so many similar incidents happening, it's hard to ignore the pattern.

Needless to say, these disruptions have fueled speculation that these occurrences are an inside job, and American freedom of speech advocates are openly sharing their experiences with us to collectively discern whether or not we're encountering censorship. The caveat is that the attention this controversy has garnered has drawn more attention to the film, which means more people are discussing child sex trafficking and the Sound of Freedom.
