Sean Love Combs – also known as Puff Daddy or P. Diddy – is facing accusations of rape, repeated physical abuse, and sex trafficking by Cassie Ventura.

Cassie and P. Diddy Relationship Timeline

The former couple met in 2005 when Cassie, then 19, signed to Diddy's record label Bad Boy Records. Two years later, Cassie and Diddy spurred dating rumors after she became the face of the rapper's fashion label, Sean John. While the two were speculated to be romantically involved with each other, Cassie and Diddy did not confirm their relationship until 2012.

Two years later, Diddy shared a now-deleted photo of Cassie wearing a diamond ring on her left hand. His caption read, "Baby do you like it? I just want to give you what you like!" Fans initially thought the two were engaged, but the rapper denied the rumors.

The pair seemed to have a rocky relationship, briefly separating in 2015 and again in 2016. The second time led to an explosive argument, and cops were called to Cassie's home. A domestic incident report was filed, and the two got back together after the altercation. Cassie and Diddy finally called it quits in 2018.

Cassie Files Lawsuit Against P. Diddy

On Thursday, the "Me & U" singer filed in Federal District Court in Manhattan and alleged Diddy began abusing her in 2005. The mogul purportedly gave her drugs, physically harmed her, and coerced her to have sex with numerous male prostitutes while he filmed them. In 2018, toward the end of the toxic relationship, Diddy forced his way into Cassie's home and purportedly raped her.

According to the official documents, Cassie was trapped by Diddy "in a cycle of abuse, violence, and sex trafficking." In addition, Cassie was "often punched, beat, kicked, and stomped on." The file also says that Diddy told the singer he was going to "blow up Kid Cudi's car" after he found out he was romantically interested in her. "Around that time, Kid Cudi's car exploded in his driveway," it reads. The documents, in adding more defendants, allege that people working with Diddy helped him gain control over Cassie by threatening to stifle her music career if she did not comply with his orders or participate in concealing his behavior.

“After years in silence and darkness,” Cassie said in a statement, “I am finally ready to tell my story, and to speak up on behalf of myself and for the benefit of other women who face violence and abuse in their relationships.”

Ben Brafman, Diddy’s lawyer, denies the allegations. He said, “Mr. Combs vehemently denies these offensive and outrageous allegations. For the past six months, Mr. Combs has been subjected to Ms. Ventura’s persistent demand of $30 million, under the threat of writing a damaging book about their relationship, which was unequivocally rejected as blatant blackmail. Despite withdrawing her initial threat, Ms. Ventura has now resorted to filing a lawsuit riddled with baseless and outrageous lies, aiming to tarnish Mr. Combs’s reputation and seeking a payday.”

In response, Cassie's attorney, Douglas Wigdor, said, “Mr. Combs offered Ms. Ventura eight figures to silence her and prevent the filing of this lawsuit. She rejected his efforts and decided to give a voice to all women who suffer in silence. Ms. Ventura should be applauded for her bravery.”
