Nickelodeon's Old Foot Logo Resurfaces As Dan Schneider's Feet Scenes From Shows Go Viral

Why did Nickelodeon have a foot logo for so long? Maybe Dan Schneider has the answer...

Back in 2013, when Dan Schneider still worked for Nickelodeon, the Sam and Cat Twitter account asked fans to write on the bottom of their feet and take a picture of it. Remember that Nickelodeon is intended for children and teens – so would they ask kids to do such a thing?

Another post from the Victorious Facebook account showed a young, barefooted Victoria Justice alongside her co-star Leon Thomas III, who is seen holding a ketchup bottle. The caption read, "Have you ever tried to eat a foot WITHOUT ketchup? It's disgusting!"

There are countless feet scenes that Schneider has produced. Ariana Grande, then a teen, was seemingly sexualized in one recording, biting her toes and squeezing a potato while making noises. In an episode from Victorious, Thomas III had to sniff Victoria's foot, and there was another where the cast members had the soles of their feet rubbed by healthcare professionals.

Old screenshots of Schneider's posts from his now-deleted X (formerly Twitter) account are easily found on Google. Can you guess what he would tweet about? Yup, toes and feet.

Going over the feet content that Schneider created would take far too long to include in this article. Yet somehow, Schneider's creepy taste and behavior weren't questioned by his team or the audience members for decades, as he was a showrunner on the kids' channel from 1993 to 2019.

Why Was Nickelodeon’s Old Logo a Foot?

Perhaps Schneider's alleged foot fetish could explain Nickelodeon Animation Studios' old sign in Burbank, California. It's unknown when the sign was taken down or why.

Yet, Schneider says that all of these scenes are "innocent." In fact, he said the allegations are “ridiculous,” telling the New York Times in 2018 that children find feet “goofy and funny.”

“The comedy was totally innocent,” he claimed.

The disgraced writer and producer recently spoke about Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV after the documentary argued that the lewd acts portrayed by minors in his shows were intentional. For example, a character named Penelope Taynt from the Amanda Show is alleged to come from the term perineum, the region between the penis or vagina and anus. Additionally, Zoey 101 actress Alexa Nikolas said that certain Zoey 101 scenes made her uncomfortable, specifically when she accidentally squeezed goo on Jamie Lynn Spears. She recalled the time when a male co-star told her that it looked "like a cum shot."

An episode from the documentary focused on Schneider asking crew members to give him a massage.

Schneider publicly apologized in a 19-minute video interview following the release of Investigation Discovery's docuseries. "Watching over the past two nights was very difficult—me facing my past behaviors, some of which are embarrassing and that I regret. I definitely owe some people a pretty strong apology,” he told BooG!E, who played a character named T-Bo on iCarly.

“There were lots of people there who witnessed it who also may have felt uncomfortable. So I owe them an apology, as well,” he added.

Schneider claims that questionable content or "jokes" in the shows should be cut from the episodes. He still insists that he wrote them because kids thought they were funny. “Every one of those jokes was written for a kid audience because kids thought they were funny,” Schneider claimed. “Now we have some adults looking back at them 20 years later through their lens. I have no problem with that. Let's cut those jokes out of the show.”

When asked about the massages Schneider requested from staffers, he said, “It was wrong. It was wrong that I ever put anyone in that position. It was wrong to do. I’d never do it today. I’m embarrassed that I did it then. I apologize to anybody that I ever put in that situation.”

Is Schneider truly sorry? Or is he sorry he got caught?
