If ever there were a perfect actress to play Barbie, it would be Margot Robbie. She's got the perfect look and disposition to bring the famous doll to life, and when everyone saw the stills from the film, especially the ones where she's in the pink Barbie car, the internet went wild. Ryan Gosling has hinted at the fact that this film is probably not what you would expect from a Barbie movie; apparently, Ken is broke and has "no money, no job, no car, no house." Nevertheless, people are excited to see the Greta Gerwig spin on the Barbie world.

Margot Robbie Says She Was "Mortified" When the 'Barbie' Photos Were Leaked and Didn't Expect They Would Be So Popular

On "The Tonight Show" with Jimmy Fallon, Margot shared that she didn't quite expect for the "Barbie" stills to take off on the internet like that. She knew that they would have to shoot some "exteriors" in LA and there would be a lot of people who would come watch, but she had no idea it would end up being that popular online. She said she was embarrassed when the photos were released.

"I can't tell you how mortified we were," she said. "We look like we're laughing and having fun, but we're dying on the inside. Dying. I was like, this is the most humiliating moment of my life."

She said there were "hundreds of people watching" while she and Ryan skated around in neon knee pads, neon roller blades, and hot pink outfits. We think they look absolutely adorable and you'd be hard-pressed to find anyone online who would disagree.

Regardless of how Margot may have been embarrassed, the whole world is waiting for the release of this film. You can watch it in theaters on July 21, 2023.
