Logan Paul’s old pet pig named Pearl was recently found abandoned in a field with another hog that died. She was rescued by The Gentle Barn, who helped heal her from her uterus infection. According to the animal sanctuary, Pearl had "been through so much trauma" but is safe now.

After the news of Pearl went viral, users have begun attacking Paul for his irresponsible rehoming. "he should be in prison," wrote one user.

"He’s the one who supposed to be abandoned," said @kudidekatmu.

After receiving backlash, Logan went on the platform to address the comments and explain Pearl’s situation in a series of tweets. “Pearl was rehomed to an amazing Ranch that I visited in Santa Clarita when I moved to Puerto Rico. I was unable to bring her to the island,” he writes. “She lived there happily for 10 months before the owner sold the Ranch. She was rehomed w/o my knowledge to the Farmer across the street."

He continues, "As far as I know, the Farmer called the Gentle Barn to pick her up, & denies there was a second pig — Pearl was transferred alone. This is an incredibly heartbreaking situation, I had Pearl for 2 years," adding, "I’m beyond thankful to the @TheGentleBarn for taking her in & will do whatever I need to aid in Pearl’s care."

Paul had sent an email to the animal sanctuary to thank them for taking care of Pearl, and has offered to contribute to her care. "For what it's worth, I'd love to send a token of my gratitude to your organization for taking Pearl in and doing something so kind," Paul wrote in an email. "I thought she was at a good home, but regardless, she is now and I'd like to contribute to her care again. I can't thank you enough for stepping in. Please let me know how else I can be supportive."
