Kim Kardashian Says She Chose Surrogacy For Health Reasons
Kim Kardashian, a name synonymous with constant fame-seeking, recently shared a personal story about pregnancies, highlighting the severe complications she faced and her subsequent decision to opt for surrogacy.

Kim's story began with an emergency labor induced by doctors as her first child, North, was born almost six weeks early and weighed just four pounds. Kardashian then learned that she had a life-threatening condition known as placenta accreta, where the placenta grows too deeply into the uterine wall. Despite the successful birth of her daughter, the aftermath was fraught with challenges, including the inability of the placenta to detach naturally.
Determined to grow her family, Kardashian underwent the process of freezing her eggs, which led to the pregnancy and birth of her son, Saint. However, she encountered the same harrowing delivery experience as with her first pregnancy.
"After my daughter was born, I still continued to do the process of freezing my eggs. I was able to get pregnant through that with my son, Saint, and then I had two embryos left and I had the same condition and the same awful delivery that I had with my first daughter," Kardashian explained, before adding that she had to five different operations within two years "to fix the damage that all of that did from the inside."
"On the outside, I was filming and photo shoots. So I asked my doctors, can I do it one more time? And they were like, we won't even put an embryo in you. That would be like malpractice. And I opted to have a surrogate to use the last two different surrogates to use the last two embryos that we had."
Kardashian's choice to pursue surrogacy for her remaining embryos allowed her to welcome two more children into her family. The response to Kardashian's candidness has been overwhelmingly positive, with many applauding her for shedding light on the complexities and dangers of childbirth and fertility issues that countless women face in silence. However, her story has also sparked discussions on the risks and ethical considerations of surrogacy.
Critics and supporters alike have debated the implications of surrogacy arrangements, touching upon the emotional, physical, and financial aspects for all parties involved. Moreover, there has been speculation on the impact of Kardashian's well-documented cosmetic surgeries on her health and fertility, prompting a broader conversation on societal pressures, beauty standards, and their potential consequences.
