You may never think that a pop star like Katy Perry could be happy leaving the grind of Hollywood, but the "Teenage Dream" singer is here to prove you wrong.

The "American Idol" judge gave birth to her first child in 2020 with husband Orlando Bloom, and since then Katy Perry has been enjoying the life changes that come along with becoming a mother. In a recent interview with Chelsea Handler on the podcast "Dear Chelsea," Perry opened up about the new developments in her life.

Katy Perry Left Hollywood and Moved to Kentucky

Perry and Bloom have officially left Hollywood behind and are enjoying the shift in perspective that it offers. “I’m like, living in Kentucky, and I have for almost a month now," she told Handler. "And that’s quite an amazing experience. Because it reminds you that Hollywood is not America."

She says it's important to see how everyday people live after spending so much time in the glamour of Hollywood. “You need to remember that,” Perry continued. “Because I think you can understand people better.”

Perry went on to say that celebrities live "in a bubble of sorts," and the bubble they live in is completely different than the bubble of everyday people in a state like Kentucky. Perry's bubble now focuses primarily on her new role as a mother. She says becoming a mom to her daughter Daisy Dove is the "best decision [she's] ever made in [her] entire life."

Perry doesn't share very much of her personal life on her social media. She'll share photos of herself and her husband, but she's not one to share snippets of her home life and her baby. So it comes as a surprise that she recently moved her family to Kentucky.

Then again, considering how many celebrities have fled Hollywood, it's really not that shocking. Matthew McConaughey and his family now live in Austin, TX and are enjoying their small-town life. Couples like Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban have also left Hollywood to settle their family in states like Tennessee. It's not exactly a mass exodus, but there is definitely a noticeable exit from Hollywood happening.
