Did Your Covid Vaccine Leave You Feeling Terrible? A New Study Funded By The NIH Claims That Means It’s Working

Did you feel terrible after your Covid vaccine? According to researchers who received grants from the NIH (who helped fund mRNA shots), it's nothing to worry about!

In a recent paper that was published on October 21, 2022, researchers from Columbia University Medical Center concluded that the side effects of the mRNA vaccine might actually be signs of its “effectiveness.” The study was partly funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH), the same organization that has invested billions of dollars in vaccine technologies. According to EurekAlerts’ report, the NIH actually provided a shocking $17.2 billion dollars in funding between 2000 and 2019, which also went into the production of the Covid-19 shots.

All of the participants in the study received two doses of either the Moderna or Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine. Almost half of them experienced "systemic symptoms" ranging from fevers to muscle aches, chills, nausea, vomiting, headaches, rashes, and moderate to severe fatigue. In the researchers’ analysis, these symptoms were often associated with younger females, prior coronavirus infection, and the Moderna vaccine.

The researchers were able to measure the antibodies in the blood by targeting Covid-19's spike protein. They found that 99% of those who experienced side effects had an antibody response compared to 98% of the asymptomatic individuals. While they claim that all participants had positive antibody reactions, the authors wrote that "systemic symptoms" show an association with "greater antibody response in multivariable-adjusted models." Lastly, their paper concludes that their findings are “reframing postvaccination symptoms as signals of vaccine effectiveness” while “reinforcing guidelines” for “boosters in older adults.”

What the researchers don’t mention, however, is the number of people who have reported adverse health effects from receiving the vaccination, such as myocarditis, paralysis, and even miscarriages. Will it only be a matter of time until Science claims that these symptoms are all signs of the Covid vaccine’s safety and effectiveness? Or will they continue to ignore these reports, leaving those who were afflicted and injured to fend for themselves? Unfortunately, only time will tell, but we can probably assume that the CDC will just continue to list the more dire symptoms as "rare."
