The well-known entrepreneur Bill Gates has been a longtime proponent of vaccines in general, and he's been particularly outspoken about the coronavirus vaccine in the last year or so.

Although Gates made his fortune in the world of technology, he has used the last decade to become a spokesperson for vaccines and a huge supporter of the World Health Organization (WHO). He doesn't have any experience in the medical field, and yet he has been propped up as one of the experts on the coronavirus vaccine. Gates announced last night that, despite his vaccination status, he has contracted coronavirus.

Bill Gates Has Covid and Is "Experiencing Mild Symptoms"

Gates posted a thread of brief tweets on Tuesday announcing he contracted coronavirus. "I've tested positive for COVID," he wrote. "I'm experiencing mild symptoms and am following the experts' advice by isolating until I'm healthy again."

"I'm fortunate to be vaccinated and boosted and have access to testing and great medical care," he continued. "The Gates Foundation is coming together today for the first time in two years, and I am lucky to be on Teams to see everyone and thank them for their hard work. We will continue working with partners and do all we can to ensure none of us have to deal with a pandemic again."

The replies were turned off so nobody could comment on the thread. Last year, we were told by multiple experts and political pundits that you couldn't contract the virus or pass it along to anyone else if you were vaccinated, but that tune has certainly changed. There are countless people in the public eye who have contracted coronavirus over the last several months who are vaccinated and routinely preach about the importance of being vaccinated.
