Galentine’s Day is such a fun theme for a brunch with friends because of the girly color scheme and the general feeling of love in the air. Show your besties some love with delicious food, adorable decor, and lots of pictures together that you’ll cherish forever.

If you’re already feeling overwhelmed with the new year and upcoming spring season, that’s ok. You might just be craving some girl time, so this brunch can be as simple as you need it to be. Make food you love, or order it from a local bakery. Blow up a few heart-shaped balloons and add pink napkins to your table. The decisions are up to you!

Hosting a brunch may seem like a stressful affair, but not to worry! We’ve got you covered with everything you need to plan the perfect Galentine’s Day brunch!

The Location

Depending on the weather and your available resources, you can host the brunch outside or inside your home. Choose a location with a lot of natural light, which will uplift everyone’s moods, and also has enough space for your guests to comfortably move around and mingle with each other.

The Invitations

When choosing a day, you’ll want to pick one that is close to the holiday, but won’t interfere with your friend’s plans, especially those in a relationship. Brunch is typically held in the late morning, which is a great opportunity to catch up with girlfriends before the bustle of the day or without interfering with your night plans.

A text is ok, but it doesn’t scream hostess with the mostest. Make a quick invitation using a program such as Canva, which has plenty of templates and cute Valentine’s Day themes, and then text that image out to the girls. Or, if you’re feeling extra fancy, print it out and add some cute stickers or heart-shaped confetti inside before putting those invitations in the mail.

The Menu

The brunch menu offers a wide variety of directions you can go in related to the food itself. The key is a balanced menu, with sweet and savory items, as well as multiple beverage choices for each girl. This can include different types of juice, mimosas, coffee, tea, and spa water. Simply take a cute pitcher, fill it with ice water, and add cut fruit, such as strawberries, blueberries, orange wedges, and lemon. It looks pretty and has extra hydration benefits, so it’s a win-win!

Sweets can include cinnamon rolls, scones, muffins, etc. You can buy these from a local bakery or find recipes on Pinterest to test your chef skills. Either way, your guests will be wowed by a variety of delicious pastries. These pecan cinnamon rolls are a favorite of mine!

Chocolate-covered strawberries and other festive fruits are another great option. Plus, you can use these to decorate plates and place settings. Or make a fruit salad as a lighter addition to the menu!

An egg dish, like a quiche or casserole, is easy to prepare and looks like it took a lot of effort! You can also make heart-shaped pancakes! It’s a super cute dish to create, and you can easily use a box mix. Small slices of toast are another cute and tasty bite to have available on the table! Whipped ricotta with strawberry jam on toast is just delicious, and avocado toast is a favorite for a reason. Easy to prepare, delicious to eat – the perfect brunch menu is coming together.

And if all else fails, make the brunch a light lunch and provide a Valentine’s Day theme charcuterie board! You can arrange the meats and cheeses in the shape of a heart, and add pops of red and pink with fruit, veggies, and other treats.

Insta-worthy Cake

I’m sure you’ve seen the Instagram cakes circling all over social media, with fluffy piping and cute frosted messages. Throw in some red and pink with a few heart details, and you’ve got the perfect Galentine’s Day dessert for pics and eating! You can bake and decorate the cake in advance, or save the decorating for the girls to do together.

Setting the Table

So you’ve sent out the invitations, made up a menu, and have begun on the food prep. How will you decorate? The theme demands pink and red decor, which is a super fun way to design your space for girl time. Color coordinate napkins, plates, cups, and any other table decor pieces you’d like to include on your table.

One of the easiest ways to set your table is to add a few floral arrangements! Head to your local grocery store (Trader Joe’s is my favorite place to go to for inexpensive flowers!), and grab a few bouquets of pink and red flowers with a bit of greenery and baby’s breath. Add these flowers to vases and spread them out across the table. Instantly spruces up the place setting!

Get Dressed Up

Don’t forget to include a dress code on your invitations! A simple indication to have everyone wear their favorite Valentine’s Day outfit for super cute pictures is all you need to say. Pink and red attire, please! Sometimes we all need a reason to dress up and fight the winter blues!

Have Fun!

The planning, food preparation, and decor process can sometimes take over the fun of the actual event. Focus on what's truly important: relaxing and having fun!

Closing Thoughts

Galentine’s Day is the perfect opportunity to celebrate friendship and love between a solid group of besties. Cheers to some much-needed girl time!
