Henry Cavill last played a superhero in the 2017 film Justice League.

Thanks to his physical stature (plus his iconic chiseled jawline and muscular physique), Cavill played the perfect Superman. With Cavill's amazing portrayal of Kent Clark in the DC films, it's no wonder his potential involvement in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is fueling excitement.

According to insider Alex Perez, there is some credence to Marvel Studios reportedly hiring Henry Cavill for their future films. Pop culture website The Cosmic Circus asked, "Have you heard anything reliable about Henry Cavill being a Wolverine variant in Deadpool 3?"

Perez responded, "There is credence to this rumor."

They also asked the insider when Cavill's role will be revealed – and apparently, The Marvel Cinematic Universe will unveil his character this year.

Fans are already speculating as to which superhero Cavill may portray. "Cyclops," writes @Chase4Par on X (formerly Twitter). "There’s nobody better to cast as Cyclops than Cavill!"

Someone on X made an AI-generated image of Cavill as Magneto from the Marvel comics.

Others are already picturing him as Wolverine.

Cavill has poked at the idea of playing Captain Britain in the past, saying, "I have seen the various rumors about Captain Britain and that would be loads of fun to do a cool, modernized version of that — like the way they modernized Captain America."
