Things are not looking good for the "Say So" singer right now. Yesterday, Doja Cat responded to her fans by saying she didn't love them, sending the internet into a frenzy. Her disheartening remarks caused many fan pages to deactivate, and some of her admirers even canceled their concert tickets.

The Grammy Award winner also deactivated her Threads account following the backlash, but she can't keep ignoring the elephant in the room – her purported boyfriend, J Cyrus.

Who Is J Cyrus and What Are the Allegations?

J Cyrus started his career on Vine by creating funny six-second videos until the app met its demise in 2017. He would upload videos of himself rapping and create short skits, similar to what he's doing on TikTok today. He was also a popular streamer on Twitch, but he quit after several women accused him of using his influence to abuse them.

Cyrus and Doja Cat were first spotted together in New York City in November 2022, according to the Daily Mail. The couple were reportedly seen at Carbone dining together in May 2023. They were recently spotted kissing on a yacht in Los Cabos, Mexico, so their romance seems very much alive.

This week, social media users claimed that J Cyrus had a problematic history of manipulating, abusing, and taking advantage of women back in his streaming days. "A little backstory about once popular 36yo streamer, JCyrus," writes @GETUOFF on Twitter. "He is known to live stream himself playing various games on Twitch. A lot of women migrated to these livestreams to watch him stream and while they were doing this he manipulated, abused, and took advantage of them."

A Twitch streamer, @emmabemmaxxx, says that J Cyrus destroyed many of his fans who trusted him. "He used his power and influence to mistreat women who watched him stream. The last count of women who came forward was close to 20. He destroyed a community of 100s of people who trusted and admired him. @jcyrus has proven he should not be given a platform."

A former moderator for J Cyrus also took to Twitter to share her experience. "It’s in his own apology; he manipulated and took advantage of women in his stream community while he held a position of power over them…on top of the years of abuse and manipulation he did to those who were volunteering their time and effort to his stream," @annaphylaxis_ says.

"In my own personal experience as one of his moderators for 3+ years; he would fake medical ailments and use self harm as a mean to control us,” she continues. “He would emotionally manipulate us and after all 10 of us figured out what he was doing we all withdrew and said it was an 'us problem.’”

J Cyrus Apologizes

Screenshots show that Cyrus apologized in December 2020 for the wrongdoings he was accused of at the time. "Before anything I want you to know there is no excuse nor justification for my actions. I was careless. I was greedy. I was ignorant. I was disrespectful," he wrote. He even admitted that he was in a position of power, yet he abused his status. "And I was completely in the wrong. In a position of power and trust, I gave into the temptations and attention of those who looked up to me."

He continued, "By engaging in flirtatious and provocative personal messages with people that didn't just see me as a casual fun time, but instead someone they grew to love and trust from admiring them in a community where they felt safe and guarded. I am an adult and im smart enough to know better but I wasn't strong or respectful enough to be better. No matter how lonely I am, no matter how desperate I was for attention, I was wrong."

Cyrus explains that he used his fans to "boost" his confidence and self-esteem "by leaning into what felt like casual indulging in mutual attraction," which turned out to be "self-serving." He apologized to his community and his mods. "I'm also sorry to the mods and friends I gave up on by not being the person they thought I was. I will now work to phase that carelessness and toxicity out of my life. Staying silent would only imply that I don't care to understand my actions and I'm not willing to learn from them," he concluded. "And I truly am. These changes don't happen overnight and these wounds I've created don't heal that quickly either. I will be taking time to absorb the things I learn both in and out of therapy. I am not a victim of anyone but myself and my own mistakes. Thank you for reading."

Doja Cat Responds

@amalashotoptions on Instagram called out Doja Cat when the shocking revelations about her alleged boyfriend resurfaced. "girl everyone is unstaning you even if you paint yourself gold it won't make things better," she commented.

"I WANT YALL TO READ THIS COMMENT AND TAKE IT AS A MESSAGE," the "Juicy" singer clapped back. "I DONT GIVE A F*CK WHAT YOU THINK ABOUT MY PERSONAL LIFE I NEVER HAVE AND NEVER WILL GIVE A F*CK WHAT YOU THINK ABOUT ME OR MY PERSONAL LIFE GOODBYE AND GOOD RIDDANCE MISERABLE HOES HAHA!"

Doja Cat appears to block people criticizing her relationship with J Cyrus, but she's yet to confirm their romance. Evie Magazine has reached out to J Cyrus for comment.
