A Trad Account On X Tried To Shame Adele By Comparing Her To A Married Mom And Failed Miserably

A trad account tried to compare Adele to another woman, and it didn't work out as well as the writer had probably hoped.

An account (@trad_west_) on X (formerly Twitter) really tried to put Adele down. Keyword tried. He failed miserably, and we're not surprised by it. Many X users who proclaim to be "traditional" tend to judge others to feel superior. Plus, are you truly "trad" if you're chronically online and tweeting a lot?

This week, the account – which currently boasts nearly 80k followers – posted a side-by-side of Adele on stage with a photo of a mother and her two kids with the caption, "Who won?" Unfortunately, I didn't take a screenshot of the original post, but the mom in question is a Christian influencer named Audrey Roloff.

The post was an obvious (and measly) attempt to demean Adele's seemingly single lifestyle. And while the "Chasing Pavements" singer is divorced, she's no longer single and has two kids.

Many X users also shared how Roloff's husband, Jeremy, had a porn addiction that nearly ended their marriage. That's beside the point, though, and both women are successful, beautiful, and amazing in their own way. What I'm saying is that a "trad" account that tried its best to appear virtuous failed embarrassingly, and his post is now gone.

Comparing two women is not the best way to get people on your side. Never mind if your lifestyle is the "correct" one; you've automatically turned people away by being nasty. After all, how you speak, act, and behave reflects your beliefs. I'm unsure if it's a man or a woman behind the @trad_west_ account (I believe it's a guy based on their posts), but this catty teenage behavior is overplayed and tiring. Every woman is unique, and being married doesn't necessarily make you a great person. It also doesn't mean you'll have a perfect marriage.

I remember seeing another post on X months ago that compared a photo of a single, childless woman to an image of another lady with 16 babies surrounding her. The irony is that that "mother" had babies through poor Romanian surrogates, and her husband landed himself in jail for allegedly soliciting a politically related murder in 1996. This is the problem with the online "trad" movement: Most aren't rooted in reality but only in fantasies. They're busy romanticizing a certain way of living rather than embodying and enacting the "traditional" values they supposedly believe in.

This is apparent in how @trad_west_ assumed that Adele was single and childless because she's a career woman, which couldn't be further from the truth. In an interview with Elle, the 34-year-old gushed about how much she loved her partner, Rich Paul, and her desire to have more kids in the future. “I definitely want more kids,” Adele said. “I’m a homemaker, and I’m a matriarch, and a stable life helps me with my music."
