Why The Astronomer CEO Cheating Scandal At A Coldplay Concert Went Viral

The viral moment that reminded us cheating still gets caught and Coldplay still hits.

By now, everyone on the planet has seen the viral video of the CEO of Astronomer getting caught cheating on his wife with the HR lady.

The first thought is… HR? Really? We all know Toby is the most hated character on The Office (although, to be fair, he’s terrible at his job). Other people call HR “human remains.”

Now, there are a few reasons why this video has gone viral… because rarely does a video spread so quickly across every social media platform imaginable, from X to Instagram.

My husband was at an appointment yesterday when the couple next to him nudged each other and said, “Did you see the cheating CEO??” From social media to the real world.

One obvious reason why this video went viral is that Andy Byron, the man, immediately ducks. And the cheating woman, Kristin Cabot, turns around. Then, of course, there’s the girl, likely an employee, who turns bright red, like she definitely was an accomplice.

If the two had just smiled and played it off, the clip might not have even been seen by any of their employees, let alone gone viral. Kiss Cams are pretty normal, after all. And perhaps the couple would’ve felt so guilty, they would’ve ended their affair. But alas, they knew what they were doing was wrong and it showed.

Then, of course, came the debates on X. Many were upset that this rich CEO cheated on his wife not with a 22-year-old supermodel, but with the HR lady. CHH has done an article on this, but most people marry (or cheat with) whoever they’re around. As much as people like to believe every old, rich man is Leonardo DiCaprio, it’s simply not reality.

The average man outside of Hollywood, NYC, or Miami doesn’t typically have access to supermodels (unless they’re insanely charming).

This story was on the front cover of today’s New York Post, which always blesses us with hilarious headlines.

A cheating scandal isn’t anything we haven’t seen before, from Bill Clinton to countless politicians. But I do think today, our society is so starved for virtue that we’ve come together on this one, rallying around the justice of seeing two adulterers get their due.

We’ve become so lax on matters of justice. There are no more scarlet letters or public duels. Instead, we watch evil get away with it time and time again. But this time, evil was caught and justice was served.

And we remembered that Coldplay has some really good songs.
