God bless the USA! The Fourth of July is my favorite holiday. How fun is it to get to celebrate this great country we live in? Especially if you get to be around family, July 4th can be a really exciting event to look forward to each year. Holidays are also just a fun time to dress up and have some fun with your wardrobe!

And with Independence Day coming so soon we’re here to give you all the outfit inspiration you need to have a stress-free experience when planning your outfit.

A Red Dress

What’s more classic than a red dress? This is truly a Fourth of July classic, and especially with the Fourth falling on a Sunday this year, this dressier option is perfect for church too. A red dress with a pair of sandals or sneakers is the ultimate Fourth of July outfit in my opinion.

A Cute Top and Shorts

If you’re someone who likes to keep it more casual on the Fourth of July, then look out for a red, white, or blue blouse to throw on with a pair of shorts to keep you looking fashion-forward, while also keeping you comfortable and able to participate in the festivities.

An Independence Day Themed Top

Fourth of July themed apparel is being rolled out in stores in spades right now. I usually counsel against this type of purchase because it’s such a novelty item, but because so much of it works all throughout the summer, it’s not a bad purchase at all.

White Heart-Shaped Sunglasses

A great Fourth of July outfit is all in your accessories! How adorable are these white heart-shaped sunglasses? These will work all summer long and will make your outfit 10 times more fun.

The Perfect Swimsuit

Whether you’re hanging out at the lake, beach, or pool, if you’re going to be doing lots of water activities on the Fourth then you’re going to want the perfect swimsuit! I love something that’s classic enough to work year-round (so you don’t have to feel bad about investing in a good quality suit), but that has red, white, or blue on it to fit the day.

A White Dress

Is there anything better than a classic white dress? This is a spring and summer staple, but it’s also a great, and subtler, choice for the Fourth of July. To play up the red, white, and blue theme you could style your dress with red or blue accessories.

A White Top and Jeans

A white blouse and jeans are two style essentials that you probably already own. Outfit complete! If you want to go all out, you could pick up a fun headband for a red or blue pop to your look.

Patriotic Florals

When it comes to the Fourth of July we normally picture stripes, but who says that florals can’t be just as cute?

Go Blue

The red dress is the most classic choice for the Fourth of July, but I think blue can also be really pretty. And if you have a cooler skin tone, you might feel even more confident in blue anyway.

A Jumpsuit or Romper

If you want an item between a dress and shorts, then a jumpsuit or a romper is the perfect choice. It will make it look like you tried harder than you did with just a blouse and shorts, but it’s going to give you virtually the same amount of mobility to play all day.

Stripes

As simple as they are, stripes are a classy and classic outfit option to wear this Fourth of July. So whether you wear them on a top, a dress, a skirt, a jumpsuit, or a romper, they add the perfect touch to your look on the day we celebrate the stars and stripes.

Closing Thoughts

Dressing up for the Fourth of July is always half the fun for me, especially if you’re coordinating outfits with your family for pictures. And it’s easy because you probably already have some of the staple colors in your closet that you need to make a great Fourth of July look. Enjoy your Fourth of July, and watch lots of fireworks now that we’ll have them again this year!
