The World Health Organization (WHO) has announced that Covid-19 is no longer deemed a "public health emergency of international concern" (PHEIC). Meaning it's no longer an "extraordinary event" or a "health risk" to other States through international spread. Don't celebrate yet, though, because according to WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, the pandemic is still not over. “It’s with great hope that I declare COVID-19 over as a global health emergency,” Ghebreyesus said. “That does not mean COVID-19 is over as a global health threat."
