In a press release, the 28-year-old country singer said, “‘Look What God Gave Her' to me is a song about my beautiful wife, inside and out. How amazing she is, how funny she is, how caring, how much of a great mom she is.” The lyrics make it equally apparent how much Rhett adores his wife. He sings, "Look what God gave her, how perfect He made her. She walks in the room, it's like He answered my prayers."

Thomas and Lauren’s Love Story

This sweet couple are elementary school sweethearts- the two have known each other since first grade in Valdosta, Georgia. At 13, they went to church camp together, and at 15 they dated briefly. After having serious relationships with other people in their late teens, Thomas and Lauren Adkins wed in 2012 at age 22. Rhett says, “We kissed, and that was it. We dated for probably six months, and we got engaged.”

2017 was a busy year for the couple. Within the span of a few months, the two announced both their plans to adopt a girl they named Willa Gray from Uganda, and the birth of their daughter Ada James. Rhett posted on Instagram after the birth, “we are so excited that Willa Gray has a baby sister!”

Just after the couple’s fifth wedding anniversary, Rhett released the single “Life Changes,” a sweet song about his marriage and becoming a father. He sings, “You never know what's gonna happen/ You make your plans, and you hear God laughing/ Life changes, and I wouldn't change it for the world.”

Rhett Has a Firm Moral Code

Rhett has not been afraid to speak out about his Christian faith, even when it has drawn controversy. In 2012 the singer released “Beer With Jesus,” a playful but earnest song about having a heart-to-heart with his savior. Some criticized the song for irreverence and mentioning alcohol in a religious context. However, “Beer With Jesus” is an earnest depiction of a conversation with Jesus resonated deeply with Rhett’s fans.

The singer’s faith has also meant he has different behavior standards than most artists. Rhett says he has been adamant about maintaining boundaries with women cast in his music videos. He explains, "I was just very adamant with the record label and with my video producer, just saying, ‘Look man, it’s not a big deal. It’s just not really me to be all over some girl in a music video,'" he says. "Even if they are the nicest people in the world, it’s just not really what I do.”

With such steadfast morals and passionate romance, Thomas Rhett and Lauren Akins have a love built to last. The Akin clan’s love is big and set to get even bigger. The couple has been open about adding more children to the family. Rhett reveals, “Lauren wants to have five kids before she turns 34. That is her plan. So you can probably expect three new babies in the next five years.” The couple set a sweet example for other young couples in Hollywood.
