The Ultimate Outfit Guide To This Year's Biggest Music Festivals

If you’re searching for a feminine alternative to torn up band tees and bondage-inspired dresses, you’ve come to the right place. You don’t have to compromise your morals or overhaul your style aesthetic in order to feel like you’re ready to tackle festival season this year.

There are, in fact, ways to keep things classy while fully embracing the excitement and carefree atmosphere of a popular spring or summer concert.

With Coachella, Stagecoach, Governors Ball, and our other favorites just around the corner, we want to make sure you're prepared with a stylish, feminine outfit that makes you feel like your most comfortable and confident self.

Keeping each festival’s location and weather in mind, we’ve scoured the internet for the cutest outfit inspiration alongside breathable, practical pieces with an emphasis on soft colors and silhouettes.

Whether you bought tickets with the intent of spending the day singing at the top of your lungs beside your best girlfriends or you’re hoping to catch the eye of a handsome lead guitarist, we want to make sure you’re prepared.

With the forecasted trends for this year’s festival season including sheer fabrics, underwear, itty-bitty baby tees, near-naked cut-outs, and nipple covers (yes, really), we’re here to show you another way. You can still dress on theme for each festival without baring it all or spending your hard-earned money on items you’ll surely never wear again. Without further ado, here is all the outfit inspiration you need to curate the cutest festive looks for this upcoming concert season.

Coachella, April 12-21

Arguably, the most Instagrammable festival of the season is Coachella (or Revolve Festival, for the chosen few). Between major influencers and celebrities being paid to show face, the A-list lineup, and the tickets costing up to $1,624 for a single weekend, it’s no wonder why people planning to attend this event curate their outfits down to the tiniest of details.

For this desert-inspired weekend, a pair of cowboy boots or strappy sandals, denim shorts or a casual skirt or dress, and boho details like hair braids or layered jewelry will allow you to remain “on theme” without playing into the latest trashy trends. Bring along a denim or suede jacket for extra layering to stay warm once the sun goes down.

If you're not into the traditional boho aesthetic, try something a little edgier like this all-black outfit or a denim on denim ensemble.

Stagecoach, April 26-28

Another fan favorite is the country music festival Stagecoach, which also takes place in California. For this event, a more casual and understated ensemble is appropriate. Think Yellowstone. Take a cute mini dress and pair it with your favorite cowboy boots and hat. Or wear a casual blouse and pair it with a neck scarf and fringe details to play up the 2024 spring fashion trends.

Governors Ball, June 7-9

When attending this NYC festival during the summer, your best bet is to stick with light, flowy fabrics and breathable materials. Style a lightweight dress or skirt combo with bold accessories, or wear a simple LBD for an effortless summer look, and you’re guaranteed to have a ball (no pun intended).

Bonnaroo, June 13-16

Bonnaroo tends to be a bit more of a funky atmosphere than some of the more mainstream concerts. This is your chance to embrace crochet, your boldest sunglasses, and bright, happy colors to make a statement you’ll be dying to capture on Instagram.

Lollapalooza, August 1-4

Instead of grabbing the trendiest band tee that’s usually dark and dingy, keep to your favorite feminine silhouette: a casual dress. Make it festival-ready with funky accessories like giant hair bows, scarves, or head-turning shoes (or all three!).

Festival season is your excuse to go a little outside your comfort zone and embrace outfits that make you feel young and carefree, and I think these looks do just that.

Closing Thoughts

No matter which festival or concert you’re attending this spring and summer, I hope that this inspiration helped give you an idea of what to look for when pulling together your look. Don’t let some of the new tacky trends make you feel like you have to compromise your morals or personal style aesthetic in order to fit in. By taking the theme of each popular festival and using it in an elevated, feminine way, you can enjoy this season to the fullest while feeling confident and comfortable in your own skin.
