The Best Lip Balms For Chapped Lips
The week this article is being written, 75% of the United States will experience cold weather that is below freezing. I don’t know if this much of the country has ever been this cold! Whether you’re walking in a Winter Wonderland, or whining in Los Angeles because it’s 55 degrees in this desert, you may suffer from dry lips.
And with Valentine’s Day just a couple weeks away, you may want to be taking extra care of your lips in case you’re getting or giving extra kisses! Here are a few of my favorite lip balms to keep your pout pleased!
Glossier’s “The Balm Dot Com” lives up to its cute namesake. Not only does it have incredible ingredients and come in a few fun scents, but it’s also a multi-purpose item that can be used on the skin everywhere else, in addition to your lips, if it needs some TLC! Its thick balm also makes it good for those who are blessed with bigger lips - it’s easy to cover a lot of area! Glossier's "Balm Dot Com" is a personal favorite of our Evie Editor-In-Chief.
Burt’s Bees may potentially go down in history as an O.G. of natural beauty products. It’s sort of like the gateway drug to all things naturally-inspired and formulated, and you have to love the wonderful things they do for the environment and their incredible story! Plus, their line has expanded to so many other personal care products and cosmetics. So the lovely “medicinal” balm also comes in gorgeous colors and different formulas.
If you’re in a “day before date” emergency and have dry, chapped, crusty lips, La Mer has a great...well, everything, if you can afford it, but this time, it’s an incredible lip balm. It’s $65 for a tin of it, and at that price, it better be miraculous, right? If you’re not familiar with the story behind this brand, a rocket scientist created the formulation to heal his burns, and a psychic medium was hired to divine the recipes after he passed!
There are a couple of balms I need to mention that I’ve discovered over the last year or so that are as good for the world as they are for your lips! One is by Kaya Essentials, which is made with pure, organic ingredients like fair trade coconut oil - and as an added benefit, with every purchase you make, the company donates a meal to a hungry child in the Philippines!
The second one is Kind Lips, which reminds you, “Every time you apply your Kind Lips, remember to say something kind!” It’s another organic lip balm, but this one donates 20% of their profits to anti-bullying organizations!
