The Best And Worst Dressed Celebrities At The 2023 Golden Globe Awards

Ah, the 80th Golden Globe Awards. A night to honor the best film and American television of the year, as determined by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (or whoever paid them off, really).

Instead of pretending to care about the nominations for this year (considering I haven't even heard of most them anyway, much less actually watched them) or the virtue-signaling filled celebrity acceptance speeches that quite literally make my eyes roll into the back of my head, I'm going to be honest with you. I couldn't care less about the award show itself, I'm here for the fashion and the fashion alone. In other words, once E! calls it quits on the red carpet coverage, I'm in bed with a face mask on, a book in my hands, and no blue light in sight.

I'm here to see who showed up dressed to impress, who showed up to make headlines, and who's stylist is getting fired tomorrow. These celebrities have the fashion world at their fingertips and most of them could literally wear anything they choose, no matter the price, so I find it fascinating to see what they show up in. Considering all of the planning, dieting, alterations, and hours spent with glam squads that go into carefully curating each person's look for the evening, it's not a stretch to say that whatever they wind up broadcasting to the world is extremely intentional.

Award shows may be a dying tradition, but that doesn't make the red carpets any less enticing to watch. So let's get into tonight's best and worst dressed celebrities at the 2023 Golden Globe Awards, shall we?

Best Dressed

Margot Robbie

She's clearly embracing her role as the modern day Barbie doll and she looks more beautiful than ever. This custom Chanel gown was literally made for her.

Jenna Ortega

The "it girl" of the evening came dressed to impress. This gown is definitely on the edgier side, but what else would you expect from Wednesday Addams? The color and layering looks gorgeous on her and her simple hair and makeup only elevate the entire outfit.

Lily James

Are we surprised? Not at all. Lily James always looks stunning and this red hot Versace gown is no exception. It fits her in all the right places and we love that she kept her hair, makeup, and jewelry simple so the dress could truly shine.

Selena Gomez

Classy and stylish as always, Selena looked timeless in her black gown with the added statement sleeves and train to turn heads.

Kaley Cuoco

This lavender color looked breathtaking on Kaley and the silhouette of this dress highlighted her growing baby bump perfectly. Not to mention the prettiest dainty details on the belt and shoulder straps. Swoon!

Li Jun Li

One of the most glamorous looks of the night; this Dolce and Gabbana dress was tailored to perfection on Li Jun Li. The crystals, the jewelry, the bag, it was everything and more!

Gigi Paris

This look was a Golden Globes moment for Gigi Paris. The dress was just edgy enough with the sheer bottom half without baring too much skin for a classy red carpet. The frills and gold detailing were just as stunning as she is!

Bailey Bass

Talk about a trend-setter. This gown by Dior couldn't get more perfect on Bailey Boss! We love the opulent gold pattern and color and the fit screams Bridgerton 2023.

Daisy Edgar Jones

In case anyone was wondering, this is how you wear a boudoir-inspired fit to an awards show. Yes, it's sexy, but it's not trashy by any means. The 'Where the Crawdads Sing' star is turning heads while keeping in mind that this is a red carpet, not the bedroom.

Worst Dressed

Jamie Lee Curtis

Usually we'd say that Jamie Lee Curtis can do no wrong, but unfortunately this look just felt unoriginal and seemed like it aged her. Simply put, she deserved more from her stylist.

Heidi Klum

And on the opposite end of the spectrum, Heidi Klum looked like she was ready to celebrate her 21st birthday in Vegas after the Golden Globe Awards tonight. She's unquestionably still as stunning as ever, but we think it's safe to say that this showgirl look didn't do her any favors.

Britt Lower

Has this silhouette ever looked good on anyone? The drop waist and contrast in colors just feels odd, then add on the leather gloves and boots and it's giving "overcomplicated".

Billy Porter

Why do we feel like we've seen this look on Billy Porter countless times already? We get that he's making a statement and dressing in non-gender conforming clothes, but it just feels tired at this point. And the bedazzled heeled booties totally bring the look down to a cheesy, costume-like level.

Emma D'Arcy

Sorry, what? Between the gloves, the poorly fitted blazer, the cheesy prom flower, and jewel-studded boots, it's gonna be a no from us.

Liza Koshy

If you really want to see how bad this look is, just scroll to the third image in this carousel. No one should have to stare at your black lace thong and half-naked butt all night.

Tefi Pessoa

Last, but certainly not least, we thought we decided after the whole #BalenciagaGate that bondage was, in fact, not cute. Of all the dresses we've looked at tonight on the red carpet, this one takes the cake for how uncomfortable it looks. Can you imagine being worried about your hair slipping away half an inch in front of hundreds of cameras all night? We're pretty sure we'd rather wear a proper top.
