Texas Governor Directs State Agencies To Investigate Treatment Given To Trans Children And Prosecute The Parents As Child Abusers

Sometimes it feels like we live in a dystopian world where up is down and down is up. Especially when it comes to transgender issues. Governor Abbott has taken a stand against the growing trend of pushing the trans agenda on children, which of course has angered a great deal of people who somehow convinced themselves that it's okay to give kids hormone blockers. Governor Abbott Orders State Agency To Investigate Kids Who Are Given Transgender Treatments On February 23, Governor Abbott directed the Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS) to look into cases in which children were given transgender-related treatments. He ordered this state agency to conduct "prompt and thorough" investigations into these cases, stating in a letter that these treatments can be considered child abuse in Texas. "The Office of the Attorney General (OAG) has now confirmed in the enclosed opinion that a number of so-called 'sex-change' procedures constitute child abuse under existing Texas law," the letter said. "It is already against the law to subject Texas children to a wide variety of elective procedures for gender transitioning, including reassignment surgeries that can cause sterilization, mastectomies, removals of otherwise healthy body parts, and administration of puberty-blocking drugs." The letter also orders the DFPS to "investigate the parents of a child who is subjected to these abusive gender-transitioning procedures." In other words, parents who put their children through this kind of abusive treatment could be prosecuted as child abusers. Last year, the Texas Pediatric Society, Texas Medical Association, and Texas Academy of Family Physicians rejected legislative efforts to limit transgender treatments such as puberty blockers. This is just one example of many efforts in the state of Texas (and all over the country) that oppose any kind of restrictions on what transgender treatments are available to kids. It's truly bizarre to see how many people are openly devastated by the fact that Governor's Abbott letter will protect children from being administered puberty blockers at a young age. In what world could you possibly find yourself defending the concept of kids being given hormone suppressants simply because they "feel" like they're a girl instead of a boy? We need more governors and legislators like Abbott willing to stand up and call a spade a spade. Because forcing your creepy, bizarre "gender theory" on kids and allowing them to mutilate their bodies is nothing short of child abuse.
