Tyler County, Texas has handed down an indictment against Netflix for “knowingly promot[ing] visual material which depicts the lewd exhibition of the genitals or the pubic area of a clothed or partially clothed child who was younger than 18 years of age at the time the visual material was created, which appeals to the prurient interest in sex, and has no serious literary, artistic, political, or scientific value.” A court date has not yet been set for the indictment.

Texas Representative Matt Schaefer publicized the indictment on Twitter:

Cuties was released on Netflix on September 9, instantly causing social media backlash and general uproar over the sexualized 11-year-old dancers. Netflix refused to pull the film from its streaming platform, sparking a #CancelNetflix movement and a drop in their shares.
