Taylor Swift’s Next Era Is Here—And It’s Not What You Expected

Since taking her final bow on the record-breaking Eras Tour, Taylor Swift has traded stadium spotlights for quiet milestones, bold moves, and a new chapter that’s anything but boring.

After conquering the world one glittering stadium at a time, Taylor Swift took her final bow on the Eras Tour stage in December 2024. The numbers? Mind-blowing. 149 shows. Five continents. Over $2 billion in ticket sales. The cultural impact? Immeasurable. Fans cried, screamed, danced, and healed across eras. And when it all wrapped up, the question on everyone’s lips was: What on earth will she do next? (Or if you’re Katy Perry, what in space?)

Turns out, she’s been busy. Quietly powerful, publicly dazzling, and, as always, just a little mysterious. Here’s everything we know about what Taylor’s been up to since the LED bracelets went dark.

She Owns It All—Literally

In a move that sent shockwaves (and happy tears) through Swiftie Nation, Taylor announced on May 30, 2025, that she finally owns her entire music catalog, including the master recordings of her first six albums. Yep. The fight that began when her masters were sold without her knowledge in 2019? It’s officially over.

She bought them back from Shamrock Capital, who had purchased them from Scooter Braun. In true Taylor fashion, she didn’t just quietly sign the paperwork, she celebrated. Reports say she hosted an intimate dinner at New York City’s historic Monkey Bar with none other than bestie Selena Gomez by her side.

The vibe? Joyful. Grateful. Triumphant. And a very big deal. Taylor now owns all her music, artwork, videos—her entire creative legacy. It’s more than a personal win; it’s a precedent-setter in an industry where too many artists don’t own the very work they create.

So what does that mean for the long-awaited Reputation (Taylor’s Version), arguably the most anticipated of all her re-recordings? According to Taylor, she hadn’t started re-recording it, and whether or not she does is a question she posed to her fans.

"The Reputation album was so specific to that time in my life," she explained. "All that defiance, that longing to be understood while feeling purposefully misunderstood...To be perfectly honest, it's the one album in those first six that I thought couldn't be improved by re-doing it... so I kept putting it off."

But she promised that the vault tracks from Reputation would be released in the future if the fans were “into that idea.” We’re pretty convinced Swifties will take her up on that.

She also shared that she had re-recorded her self-titled debut album, and added that the two albums may one day become public “when the time is right.” She added, “It won’t be from a place of sadness and longing for what I wish I could have. It will just be a celebration now.”

And that’s the kind of era we’re here for.

Florida!!!

Since the end of the tour, Taylor has swapped stadiums for sunshine. She’s been living a (relatively) low-key life in Florida with boyfriend Travis Kelce, tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs and arguably the NFL’s most high-profile Swiftie.

Kelce is reportedly renting a $20 million mansion in Boca Raton, and the two have been spotted on chill date nights, including a date night with Travis sporting a solid handlebar mustache. They’re also doing the normal couple stuff, though: grabbing coffee, hanging with family, attending weddings, and celebrating holidays (they were recently spotted in Philly for Mother’s Day with Kelce’s fam).

That said, no celeb couple is immune to gossip. A recent date night that seemed unusually subdued, paired with an unrelated Blake Lively internet rabbit hole, sparked breakup rumors. But for now, they’re still very much a thing.

Award Season: Highs, Lows, and Eye Rolls

While Taylor’s been embracing a slower personal pace, her professional life is still in overdrive.

At the 2025 iHeartRadio Music Awards, she absolutely dominated. Ten nominations. Nine wins. And one major title: “Tour of the Century” for the Eras Tour. She accepted the award via video, looking radiant and reflective, acknowledging just how much the tour meant to her.

But not every award show has been a lovefest. At the 2025 Grammys, The Tortured Poets Department earned six nominations…and zero wins. Album of the Year went to Beyoncé, while other top honors went to Kendrick Lamar and rising star Sabrina Carpenter.

Then came the American Music Awards, where Taylor was again nominated in six categories—and again walked away empty-handed. The Swifties were not pleased. But if Taylor was bothered, she hasn’t let on.

Still Breaking Records: The Tortured Poets Department

Okay, awards are nice. But chart records? Those last forever. And Taylor’s latest album, The Tortured Poets Department, has been smashing records like never before.

Released in April 2024, the 31-track behemoth debuted with a historic bang. Every single track hit the Billboard Hot 100—at once. She even locked down the entire top 14 spots. That’s never been done. Not by Beyoncé. Not by Drake. Not by the Beatles. Just Taylor.

By November 2024, the album was certified six-times platinum. It became the top-selling album of the year in the U.S., with over 6.9 million units sold.

The lead single, “Fortnight” (featuring Post Malone), also did numbers. At the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards, Taylor won seven trophies, including Best Direction and Best Art Direction for the track’s moody, cinematic video. Artist. Director. Visionary. She really can do it all.

What’s Next: Taylor’s Never-Ending Creative Era

What does Taylor Swift do with a little downtime? She creates more art, of course.

Fans are buzzing about the possibility of her 12th studio album (affectionately called “TS12” for now), which could drop as soon as late 2025. A tour could follow, but even if she takes a breather, she’s not done giving.

But music isn’t her only focus. Taylor has officially signed with Searchlight Pictures to direct a feature film based on her own original screenplay. And that’s not all—rumors are swirling about her branching into fashion, launching creative art projects, and even working on a memoir.

Paintbrush in one hand, pen in the other. She’s exploring every medium available.

Engagement Rumors? Baby Buzz?

If you’re wondering whether “Lavender Haze” has turned into wedding plans, you’re not alone.

Sources close to the couple have hinted that Taylor and Travis are the real deal. “Taylor is ready for the next era of her life,” one insider told Us Weekly. “She knows it will be special.”

Fans are speculating about everything, from a holiday engagement to possible baby plans. While nothing has been confirmed, Taylor seems grounded, joyful, and very much in love.

She’s also been quietly supportive of others. In a rare public move, she broke her social media silence to like a video of Natalia Bryant (Kobe Bryant’s daughter) graduating, which used her song “Nothing New (Taylor’s Version).” Sometimes, her smallest gestures speak volumes.

The Bottom Line: She’s Not Slowing Down—She’s Shifting Gears

So what has Taylor Swift been up to since the Eras Tour? The answer: everything, and on her own terms.

She’s reclaiming her art, redefining success, and recharging in a way that feels authentic to her evolving identity. Whether she’s sketching in a Florida sunroom, storyboarding a music video, or planning her next cultural takeover, Taylor remains what she’s always been: a once-in-a-generation storyteller.

The Eras Tour may be over, but the Taylor Swift era? It’s far from done.
