Tennis superstar and international sensation Serena Williams just retired from the sport a couple weeks ago. The US Open was her last tournament, but she is making a comeback in the fashion world.

Serena has won 23 Grand Slam titles in her career and she's been a beacon of strength and excellence in the tennis world for decades. But she has chosen to leave behind her sport in order to spend more time with her family and potentially have a second baby, especially since her daughter Olympia, 5, keeps asking for a little sister. She is still in the public eye, though, and most recently she walked the New York Fashion Week runway.

She is first known as an athlete, but Serena has rubbed shoulders with major celebrities and fashion moguls for years, even appearing in Beyoncé's visual album "Lemonade." At New York Fashion Week this year, she strutted down the runway wearing a metallic silver Balenciaga gown that was paired with a matching cape.

As she was walking down the runway, a recording of a 2000 NBC interview was playing in the background. “I want people to remember me as the girl who changed tennis or just was able to bring something new to the game,” she said in the clip.

She was accompanied by four ball girls who were carrying rackets and wearing white Nike tennis outfits. Her hair was pulled back into a slick low ponytail and she wore large metallic earrings to match her dress. She even walked alongside the likes of Gigi and Bella Hadid and later sat down next to Anna Wintour to watch the rest of the show.

At another event called "Glam Slam" by IMG and Spring Studios, Serena said in an interview that her daughter Olympia helps her pick out her clothes.

“Sometimes I will say ‘Olympia, which color do you like better?’ or ‘Which dress do you like better?’ and she’ll say ‘That one,”‘ Serena said during a Q&A. “And I’m not sure if she’s just pointing at one because she wants to play games after.”

She also said she's "really excited to explore" the world of fashion and is "willing to dive deep" now that she's given up tennis.

“I have been in fashion for so long and gone to school for it. Most of my life has been so dedicated to tennis, and I have never been able to fully focus on things that I have such a passion for. These collections are about to get really insane," she shared.
