Politicians And Climate Activists Are Using The Coronavirus Crisis To Push Their Climate Change Agenda

Just about everybody laughed when CNN employed Greta Thunberg to be part of their “panel of experts” on how to handle the coronavirus crisis. What recommendations would a 17-year-old high schooler provide among a panel of medical experts and scientists on how to deal with the coronavirus?

After I’d finished chuckling at the absurdity of CNN elevating a child as an expert on public policy, I realized that CNN, in unison with certain politicians, is not about to “let a good crisis go to waste.” As with every other crisis, the environmental movement is using the coronavirus shutdowns as a way to push their climate change agendas down the throats of financially hurting Americans.

Exploiting the Public Health Crisis

The American economy has lost over 36 million jobs since the start of this pandemic shutdown. There are even some indicators that show that the real unemployment rate is at 20%. With this many Americans in hardship, worrying about how they’re going to put food on the table next month, what should the politicians do to help alleviate all this pain and suffering? If they’re political allies of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, they’d start by putting Greta Thunberg on the panel of experts at CNN to help advance AOC’s Green New Deal

As with every other crisis, the environmental movement is using the coronavirus shutdowns as a way to push their climate change agendas.

While Greta’s appearance on CNN’s panel of experts is probably done for the sake of ratings and optics, there are multiple other cases where radical politicians are using this public health crisis to push the climate change agenda. The clearest example can be seen with how the Joe Biden campaign for Presidency vows to combine the battle against the coronavirus with the fight against “climate change as a driver of health threats.”

Pushing the Radical Green Agenda during a Crisis

From the statement his campaign released on how they’ll address the coronavirus crisis, a Biden Presidency “will recommit the United States to the Paris Agreement on day one and lead an effort to get every major country to ramp up the ambition of their domestic climate targets. As President, Biden will fully integrate climate change into our foreign policy and global health security strategies, and prioritize efforts to mitigate disease and migration challenges caused by a warming planet.”

Translation: If Joe Biden becomes President, his administration will prioritize the climate change agenda as their main public policy for America. This public health crisis will be used as the stepping stone for more government overreach.

If this sounds implausible, you should know how this is already happening.

Seattle Mayor Jenny Durkan, for example, used the coronavirus crisis to justify permanently shutting down 20 miles of residential streets from being used by “non-essential” driving — i.e. private motor vehicles that just want to pass through. I had no idea driving in traffic spreads COVID-19. Who knew?

Political Elite’s Lack of Public Empathy

But this is just a taste of how some politicians will jump on every opportunity to implement restrictive laws against the public. The main thing these restrictions will accomplish is to reduce the standards of living for the majority of us. It should come as no surprise that politicians (like Jenny Durkan, who is one of the strongest advocates of AOC’s Green New Deal) would be using the coronavirus for their own political ends.

The main thing these restrictions will accomplish is to reduce the standards of living for the majority of us.

One thing’s for sure, the private residential properties in these neighborhoods in Seattle will soar in value now that the streets (the maintenance of which are financed by public funds) will be closed to the public traffic. So it’s fine to charge the public for the upkeep of these desirable neighborhoods’ roads, as long as they won’t have equal access to drive on them?

Tyrannical Overreach for More Control

This is just my speculation, and I might very well be wrong, but it does appear like these elitist groups of environmental activists are made up of people who want to destroy the economy in order to keep the general public toiling in hardship and poverty. Because the poorer you are, the easier you will be to control. Just take a look at the citizens of North Korea as an example.

Judging by the environmentalist standard, the North Koreans are perhaps one of the most “eco-friendly” people on earth, since they produce a very minimal carbon footprint as they live in a primitive, oppressive condition. You can, however, be assured that the Kim dictatorship’s family and their minions are living it up in the splendor of international luxury.

Ensure the People Remain Helpless

Just like the Kim dictatorship, the more the environmentalist movement can destroy your wealth, the easier it is for you to be oppressed and controlled. More restrictions in the name of ecology mean less economic independence. And less economic independence means you’ll have less control over the means of production for your own survival. Losing it all will put you at the mercy of oppressive politicians because you can no longer act as an independent and productive adult.

The more the environmentalist movement can destroy your wealth, the easier it is for you to be oppressed and controlled.

Only children should depend on the custodianship of an authority figure like a parent to provide them with the necessities of survival. Adults, on the other hand, have to figure out a way to survive through their own economic production. Restricting a person’s ability to pursue their own economic production hinders that adult’s independence, causing them to be dependent and helpless in their own life.

Closing Thoughts

Perhaps this is why Greta Thunberg is such a celebrated figure in the environmental movement. She is treated like an oracle imparting wise and insightful knowledge to her followers, similar to how primitive societies used to gather around a child who was supposed to be a vessel to hear from spirits. For them, Greta is the perfect vessel to channel the spirit of devastating climate change. And from this, the public will be frightened into giving up their independence and into embracing even more learned helplessness.
