Penelope Cruz and Javier Bardem have been married for more than a decade and have two children together, Leo and Luna. Leo is 10 and Luna is 8, which is usually the time when children are given smartphones and perhaps even access to social media. Penelope and Javier are choosing to keep their kids off Instagram and TikTok, though.

In an interview with CBS Sunday Morning, Penelope made it clear that her children won't take any part in social media.

"There is something that is not making sense and it's especially affecting younger generations," she said. "I feel really bad for the ones that are teenagers now. It's almost [as] if the world was doing some kind of experiment on them. 'Oh, let's see what happens if you expose a 12-year-old to that much technology.'"

Penelope says that she herself only uses social media "in a very careful way," and she believes that kids should be shielded from the things you see online.

"There is no protection for them, for brains that are still developing and how that affects the way they see themselves, how everything related to bullying, so many things that are not the childhood that we had," she continued. "No social media until at least 16."

She and Javier have kept their family private over the years, and it's difficult to find any pictures of them with their children. They live in Madrid together.
