Our Favorite Lingerie Brands (That Aren’t Victoria’s Secret)

When it comes to creating a beautiful feminine wardrobe that you love, there really is no better place to start than at the foundation of everything you wear — your undergarments. It’s easy to forget about because nobody sees what you have on underneath your clothes, but it really can make a big impact in making you feel good about yourself. Obviously, lingerie is great for spicing things up in the romance department, but regardless, I still think it’s worth it to invest in quality lingerie that you’re comfortable and confident in! I never feel more beautiful than when I get ready for bed and wear a beautiful nightgown. Beautiful lingerie is for the wearer first and foremost! The American woman has in some ways has lost the art of dressing for bed. 1950s intimates and nightgowns were so beautiful and a normal part of getting ready for bed. Don’t get me wrong, I love wearing my warm thermal pajamas just as much as the next girl, but at the same time, there’s value in regularly getting dressed up for bed, if you will. Intimates are typically delicate, so when you do invest in quality lingerie you’ll want to make sure that you’re storing it properly and handwashing it to preserve it so that you get your money’s worth. You wouldn’t machine wash your nice dry clean only dress, so don’t do it to your bras either. They’ll stay nicer longer if you don’t. Now that we’ve got that out of the way, here are all the lingerie brands we love and think you should try! La Perla This luxury Italian lingerie brand is one of our favorites, and with good reason. These are beautiful, high-quality garments made with beautiful craftsmanship. If gorgeous silk, lace, and a design meant to last are what you look for when shopping for intimates, then La Perla will certainly fill the bill. Agent Provocateur Another brand that makes beautiful lingerie, this time based in London, is Agent Provocateur. It’s fun, playful, feminine, and made to last. It’s another brand at a price point that definitely makes each bra an investment piece, but each one is so beautiful that you’ll be glad you spent the money. If you need to figure out your size, check if your closest high-end department store carries their designs. (The same goes for La Perla and other high-end brands.) If you live in the western states, Neiman Marcus carries both brands. Adore Me Adore Me lies at the opposite end of the price range for lingerie but their products are still good quality. As a company, they’re really focused on helping women find underwear that fits them well. Make an account to save your favorites and to “shop or skip” each month (for a discount!). Intimissimi Intimissimi is another Italian brand with beautiful lacy, feminine designs. They make some really great quality lingerie but are much more affordable than some of the other high-end brands listed. They’re a really great starting place to begin building your collection and figure out what you like! Cosabella An Italian luxury brand, Cosabella is probably best known for their gorgeous lace thongs. The designers strive to make lingerie that's lightweight and meant to move with your body, rather than being full of wires and boning. They also have a good size range from petite to plus size, which means there's something for everyone. Eres Ever wanted to dress like a French girl? Well, you’re in luck because I actually have an article on that too. Eres is a French brand, and let’s just say the effortlessly chic style of French clothing carries over to lingerie. It’s simple but will make you feel special all the same. Hanky Panky If you’re looking for a particular style, Hanky Panky probably has it. Their price range is also more affordable, so it’s the perfect spot to experiment with styles you aren’t too sure about before taking the plunge with something more expensive. Natori Natori is quite possibly my all-time favorite lingerie brand. Josie Natori started out making lingerie on the floor and has grown her business into a globally sought after brand that makes gorgeous, high-quality lingerie. They’re really known for their gorgeous prints, often inspired by her Asian heritage. If you need a robe, chemise, or a kimono, there truly is no better place to go. Aerie An extension of the classic American Eagle brand, Aerie has been serving up comfy, high-quality yet affordable basics for years. Also, their brand focus on real bodies and real women is so refreshing. We love that their bras and panties are made with comfort and ease in mind. ThirdLove ThirdLove revolutionized the bra scene with their custom bra sizing system. Their site helps customers choose the perfect size and style of bra for their body type. Their cult following says they're the comfiest bras on the market – you'll have to buy one to find out! Eberjey I couldn’t do an article on lingerie without mentioning Eberjey. If amazing quality at an affordable price is what you’re after, then this is the brand you’ve been looking for. Their designs are simple and elegant. You’ll never tire of wearing these beautiful pieces! One of my favorite nightgowns and a matching robe are from here, so I can personally attest to the quality. Closing Thoughts Especially with how much time we’re all spending at home, investing in your lingerie wardrobe is a really great idea. If you’re thoughtful about the styles you select and try to buy good quality pieces, it will last you a long time (as long as you take care of it).
