In a recent Interview Magazine feature, North West, 11, shared her faith and trust in God.

When asked about an unforgettable piece of advice, North’s answer was straight to the point: "To trust God only. Don’t trust nobody else except God."

North went on to share one of her best memories – a relaxed day spent in Italy with her siblings. She described taking that moment to teach her brothers and sister about prayer, making it a moment to connect with her faith. “I taught Chi and Psalm how to pray, and I taught Saint to pray,” she said, adding that God really showed up for them afterward. For a kid to steer her siblings toward something so grounding is refreshing to see, especially in a world where many child stars lose that sense of stability.

Her mother, Kim Kardashian, then asked her daughter how she tries to help others. North’s answer was to “Spread the gospel. Tell them about God and how problems get solved if they follow his word and his way.”

It’s hard to ignore Hollywood’s blatant obsession with devilish themes. In 2012, Sam Smith charmed the world with soulful ballads like "Latch," but flash forward to the 2023 Grammys, and we see him on stage as a devil, drenched in red lighting and surrounded by dancers in occult-style garb. His song "Unholy" felt a stark and dark contrast from his old songs. And how could we forget Doja Cat’s “Paint the Town Red” video, which followed suit with its horned visuals? The entertainment industry has made these satanic references feel more like the norm rather than the exception.

Hollywood tries so hard to look edgy and different that it’s all starting to look the same. Everyone is tapping into the overdone “satanic aesthetic” as if it were a requirement. And that’s exactly what makes someone like North West stand out, ironically enough. She’s open about her faith in God and isn’t trying to chase Hollywood’s flavor of shock value. Maybe pop stars’ affinity for hell and demons is just a phase. But here's to hoping North’s faith continues to be her compass – and maybe sets a trend for the next generation of Hollywood kids.
