According to Vogue , “The 2024 Costume Institute exhibition at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, titled ‘Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion,’ will feature approximately 250 items drawn from the Costume Institute’s permanent collection, many of which have rarely been seen in public before.” The exhibition is designed to cover three main “zones”: Land, Sea, and Sky. Andrew Bolton , who is in charge of the Costume Institute, said, “It is very much an ode to nature and the emotional poetics of fashion.” Despite the “Sleeping Beauties” theme and three “zones,” the official dress code for those attending is actually “The Garden of Time” and is inspired by J.G. Ballard’s short story written in 1962, which we’re sure will be interpreted in countless ways by Hollywood’s stylists attempting to stand out and make a statement. Feeling confused yet?
