Meet The Olympic Couples Competing Together In Tokyo This Summer
Qualifying for the Olympics is an incredible feat. Qualifying for the Olympics with the love of your life – out of this world.

Here are some of the uber talented power couples who will be competing in the 2021 Games.
Tara Davis and Hunter Woodhall
Track athletes Tara Davis and Hunter Woodhall will be representing the United States in the Olympics and Paralympics, respectively. Tara, a long jumper from the University of Texas, and Hunter, a two-time Paralympic medalist in the 200 and 400 meters, met at a track meet in Idaho four years ago. They have been long distance for most of their relationship, but that has only seemed to strengthen their love. “Hunter is my rock, my best friend, and everything combined into one human being,” Tara told Elle in a recent interview. We’re so excited to watch these two amazing athletes represent the U.S.A.
Charlotte Caslick and Lewis Holland
Charlotte Caslick and Lewis Holland are both rugby players for Australia. At the 2016 Games in Rio, Charlotte won a gold medal. That same year, she was named the World Rugby Player of the Year. Lewis placed eighth in Rio. Charlotte and Lewis announced their engagement in January 2020, but, because of COVID, rescheduled their wedding to December of this year.
Jason and Laura Kenny
Jason and Laura Kenny, married cyclists from Great Britain, both have a shot at becoming Britain’s most-decorated Olympian. The two combined have already won 11 medals – 10 gold and one silver. Though both nearly entered into retirement before Tokyo, they will mount their bikes and compete at least one more time. Their son, who was born shortly after the Rio Games, will be cheering them on from home.
Gerek Meinhardt and Lee Kiefer
American fencers Gerek Meinhardt and Lee Kiefer wed in September 2019. The two graduated from the University of Notre Dame and are ranked second and fifth in the world, respectively. The accomplished couple, who trained together throughout the pandemic, will compete in Tokyo as veteran Olympians.
Jonelle and Tim Price
Tokyo will be the second consecutive Games for both Jonelle and Tim Price, a married couple from New Zealand. They will once again compete in eventing (an equestrian event). 2016 marked the first time New Zealand had a couple represent them in eventing. Currently, Tim is ranked second in the world, while Jonelle is ranked seventh. They have two adorable children. You can check out a sweet timeline of their story together here.
Closing Thoughts
We’re big fans of the Olympics, and we’re big fans of true love, so we’re thrilled to see so many wonderful couples traveling to Tokyo together. Unfortunately, COVID restrictions will make it very difficult for couples to be physically present to cheer each other on, but love transcends physical barriers and distance (just ask Tara and Hunter). We have no doubt that these pairs will shine at the Games.
