Multiple male models at last year's Met Gala went viral online for being hunks. One of them was Eugenio Casnighi, and he's spilling the tea about the event.

According to Casnighi, he was fired after unintentionally upstaging Kylie Jenner. For context, a video showed Jenner on the red carpet last year being interviewed as Casnighi stood behind her. The audience was distracted by the Italian model's looks, diverting attention from the Keeping Up with the Kardashians star.

"I've been working for the Met Gala as a model and greeter," the model says in a viral TikTok, adding that he did the gig from 2020 to 2023. He was supposed to work at this year's exhibition until he was suddenly laid off. The reason? He was too hot. "So basically, they said, 'You made it about yourself. So we can't have you work there anymore. So I'm sorry you got laid off, fired, whatever you want to call that,'" he explains.

Casnighi had to help Jenner last year, which explains why he was near her. "So let me just tell you how it works a little bit. Last year, they told me that I was going to be with Kylie Jenner the whole night and help her, you know, [with] whatever she needed," he says. "It's funny because the Met Gala and the company that I'm not going to mention, they fired me. They want models to work on the red carpet. They want people to get noticed. They literally told me, 'We picked you because we like you more than other people to be with this celebrity.'" But when people took notice of Casnighi instead of Jenner, all the blame fell on the model.

Casnighi notes he was confirmed to work for an event this year just a month ago, stating he has emails and messages to support his claim. So imagine his shock when his employers told him he wasn't going to be at this year's Met Gala. "They said, 'You made it about yourself. So we don't want to work with you anymore.'"

In another video, the model gives the scoop on the nice and mean celebs, and he only had nice things to say about Jenner. "She's been nothing but nice to me," he says. They even talked a little bit and she asked where he was from. Casnighi adds, "She was nice and looks also very beautiful in real life."
