Lana Del Rey has given us classic Americana songs like "Blue Jeans," a song of young love and the desire to start a life with a man who reminded her of James Dean . Then there's "West Coast," a song about a woman torn between choosing her California dreams and her lover. Now, she will continue her legacy in her upcoming album, Lasso. Echoing the moves of Beyoncé, who released Cowboy Carter this year, Del Rey's new album will feature a country sound. Are celebrities embracing their American pride once again? “All my albums are somewhat rooted in Americana, unless it’s an album like Honeymoon , which has a jazz flair, so I don’t think it will be a heavy departure,” she says about Lasso in her recent interview with Vogue . “If anything, it will just be a little lighter lyrically, and more pointed in a classic country, American, or Southern Gothic production – which again, so many of my songs already are.” Good news for fans: Del Rey also hinted at additional singles on the way before the album's release.
