At 63 years old, Jamie Lee Curtis is the kind of actress that has been in everything from Freaky Friday to Halloween to True Lies. While the trend may be to alter your face in any way possible in order to stave off aging, Jamie is taking a different approach. In an interview with Today, she calls herself "pro-aging" and sends a clear message to all the women out there who want to age gracefully.

Jamie Lee Curtis Gives Advice to Young Women Who Want to Age Gracefully: "Don't Mess With Your Face"

Jamie has often been a critic of the way that Hollywood encourages women to age. She admitted that she had plastic surgery done and "put Botox in my head." Although the Botox makes big wrinkles go away, "then you look like a plastic figurine." That's why she tries to educate young women, including her daughter, on how to age gracefully and naturally.

"Walk a mile in my shoes. I have done it. It did not work. And all I see is people now focusing their life on that," she said. "Don't mess with your face."

It's difficult to adhere to this advice in this day and age, and that's why Jamie encourages her daughter to be happy and content in her own skin. "Happiness is a tricky word because life is pain," she added. She wants her daughter to be satisfied and feel like what she's doing matters in the world. She sees that as an antidote to the obsession with altering your physical appearance to match society's beauty standards.

Jamie also spoke about the importance of treating people with kindness. "It's by an artist named Bob Reynolds that says, 'Note to self: Be kind, be kind, be kind,'" she said. She used this as piggyback to criticize Kanye West's comments about Jewish people. She said she "woke up and burst into tears" when she read Kanye's original tweet that was deleted and resulted in his suspension.

"The holiest day in Judaism was last week. Words matter. A threat to Jewish people ended once in a genocide. Your words hurt and incite violence. You are a father. Please stop," she tweeted at Kanye.

"It's bad enough that fascism is on the rise around the world, but on Twitter, on a portal, to pour that in as if Jewish people haven't had enough?" Jamie said on the Today show.

Regardless of her opinions on Kanye and fascism, Jamie has done a great job at encouraging women to embrace their natural aging process rather than fighting it with unnecessary plastic surgery.
