Influencer Says Plastic Surgery “Destroyed” Her Body: “I Ruined Myself”

On their latest episode of Sisters in the City , Influencers Anna and Mandi Vakili shared their experiences with plastic surgery. The sisters admit that the Botox, fillers, and veneers aren’t the glowing Instagram fantasy we’re imagining. Whereas most influencers won’t even admit to receiving cosmetic procedures, the two reality stars chose the honest, unfiltered route so that they could help women, and we love them for it! Mandi opened up with a reality check: "When you look on Instagram, with the lighting, the poses, the angles – it looks like I've got the perfect body, right? But that's not true," she confessed. We’re constantly bombarded by seemingly perfect pictures of women on the ‘Gram, and we forget that they’re usually filtered or edited. Then we look at ourselves and wonder, “Why can’t I look like that?” What we don’t see is the price behind those carefully curated photos. Mandi continued, "The more surgery you get, the more surgery you get." It’s a vicious cycle where one procedure leads to another, all to fix botched work or to maintain the “ideal” image. "All this money on surgery, I look like sh*t," she admitted. Anna chimed in with a message to young women listening: "Really, really think hard before you go for surgery. Is it something you really, really need?" Mandi’s heartbreak over the damage done was clear when she recounted a memory from a sun-soaked holiday in Mykonos. "I ruined myself,” she said. “Four years ago, I had this beautiful perky bum, smooth, no cellulite, no scars. I have actually destroyed myself to the point where now I can't even walk around in a bikini without thinking everyone’s staring at my keloid scars." She added, “I have actually destroyed myself. I've destroyed myself.” These women aren’t anti-plastic surgery by any means, but they do recognize how these “enhancements” can lead to one feeling worse. "Look, I’m not anti-surgery,” Anna said in response. “I’m actually for it if it’s something really affecting your confidence, and you’ve done all the right research." Research doesn’t always protect you from the downsides, though. Mandi explained how she went to what she thought was the best BBL surgeon, only to end up with a body she feels has been "destroyed."
