This weekend, a viral video showed an unconscious woman in the back of a pickup truck. She was paraded through the streets by Hamas terrorists shouting "Allahu Akbar" as she lay face down with broken limbs. The men disrespected her body and spat on her, and she is believed to have been tortured and raped. The woman has been identified as Shani Louk, a German-Israeli citizen and tattoo artist who was captured at the Tribe of Nova music festival near the Gaza-Israeli border on October 7, 2023.
The festival – marketed as a celebration of “friends, love, and peace” – became a disaster when Hamas terrorists launched an unprecedented attack that resulted in more than 260 reported deaths at the site. The attack began with a "red alert" warning for rockets over loudspeakers, followed by gunfire as the Islamist terrorist group stormed the festival. The attendees sought refuge in nearby bushes and fruit orchards for hours, awaiting rescue. Others were abducted, and Hamas is believed to have taken many hostages – including Louk.
Louk's family identified her through her distinctive leg tattoos and long dreadlocks. Her mother, Ricarda, has seen the distressing video of Louk in the vehicle. Holding up a photo of her daughter, she desperately asks viewers for help. "We were sent a video in which I could clearly see our daughter unconscious in the car with the Palestinians and them driving around the Gaza Strip," Ricarda said. "I ask you to send us any help or news. Thank you very much."
Another family member of Louk has also confirmed her identity. “It is definitely Shani," her cousin, Tomasina Weintraub-Louk, says. "She was at the music festival for peace. This is a nightmare for our family.”
A new video shows Louk dancing at the festival before being taken away. Multiple posts on X with this exact clip read, "Shani Louk probably moments before Hamas raped her, broke her limbs and killed her, then paraded around her naked dead body in the back of a pick up truck spitting and yelling 'Allahu Akbar.'"
Meanwhile, the death toll in Israel continues to rise. According to Israeli news sites, Hamas has taken the lives of 600 people. The death toll has passed 1,100 on both sides, and thousands have been wounded following the surprise attack. Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says the country "is at war" after the devastation Hamas caused. Netanyahu announced, “Citizens of Israel, we are at war. Not an operation, not a round [of fighting,] at war! This morning Hamas initiated a murderous surprise attack against the state of Israel and its citizens.”
