Many pornstars and OnlyFans models love to glorify their jobs on social media, but the reality is that sex work is anything but "empowering." Many women are abused and humiliated behind the scenes, and some even fall victim to human trafficking. Even former adult film actress Lana Rhoades has condemned the sex work industry.

"I'm ashamed that I did porn," she revealed in a podcast episode. The clip below shows snippets of Rhoade's honest remarks. "Smart people learn from other people's mistakes. Fools learn from their own."

"Those videos make me want to throw up," she confessed, later adding, "[I had] so many friends and girlfriends who thought porn was a good idea, and they don't end up with the same outcome as me. They end up with a bunch of videos of them getting f*cked on the internet for their family to see. They make no money, and it's over for them."

This is not the first time the social media personality has admitted to regretting doing porn. In 2021, the 26-year-old disclosed how she would delete all of the videos of herself if she could. "Do you regret, like, any of that stuff?" Tap In host Harry Jowsey asked her.

"I do," Lana responded. "I honestly tell people, if I could go back, I would give up everything to have my dignity and respect back, and for people not to be able to see me in that way."

On the 3 Girls 1 Kitchen podcast, Lana tearfully shared her experiences with filming pornographic scenes. "Some of my experiences are really humiliating for me, and I wish that they never happened," she said. "There's stuff going on, like, people getting pissed on. Men are pissing inside of women's vaginas, *ssholes, down their throats..."

This year, Lana claimed that she was actually against pornography, despite being one of the biggest pornstars a few years back. "I just didn’t have a great experience [in porn], and I don’t think that it’s great for other women or even men," she said. "I myself am against pornography now from my own experiences."

She also added, “I don’t think that having sexual relations with people that you hardly know is good for your mental health or your heart."

Today, OnlyFans has nearly two million creators – and due to the platform's business model, many of them won't succeed. Which begs this important question: How many young women will regret making pornographic content in the future?
