Fauci Should Not Have Been Pardoned

Joe Biden's infamous chief medical adviser, Anthony Fauci, served as one of the members of the White House Covid-19 Response Team and was largely responsible for the development of the vaccination rollouts and mandates as the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases.

Many fear-filled Americans hailed him as a paragon of "science," but an honest look at his decisions reveals obvious and harmful overreach from the start and a stunning lack of accountability. Biden's pardon not only insults the millions of people who were harmed by his decisions but also sets a dangerous precedent.

The Gain-of-Function Scandal

Arguably the most damning aspect of Fauci’s tenure is his connection to gain-of-function research, a controversial and highly risky scientific practice. Gain-of-function research involves manipulating viruses to enhance their transmissibility, host range, or pathogenicity to study their potential risks. Critics warn that they pose unacceptable risks of accidental release and global catastrophe.

Under Fauci’s leadership, the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) funneled funding to the Wuhan Institute of Virology through intermediaries like EcoHealth Alliance. Investigative reports and leaked emails revealed that some of this funding supported research on coronaviruses with gain-of-function characteristics. In one example, research at the Wuhan Institute involved modifying bat coronaviruses to make them more infectious to humans. Critics point out that these experiments bear an alarming resemblance to the characteristics of SARS-CoV-2, the virus responsible for COVID-19.

Emails between Fauci and colleagues further demonstrate his awareness of concerns regarding gain-of-function experiments, but instead of transparently addressing these concerns, Fauci focused on controlling the narrative, dismissing the lab-leak theory, and pushing alternative explanations, demonstrating our public officials prioritized self-preservation over the truth.

A "Safe" Vaccine?

According to data from Australia, there were 92,699 deaths in the first half of 2022—nearly 20% higher than the historical average. While other factors may have contributed, the timing of this increase, following widespread inoculation campaigns, has led many to question the vaccines’ role in these excess deaths.

Recent studies have uncovered even more troubling evidence. Recipients of the COVID-19 vaccine are reportedly 25% more likely to suffer cardiac arrest. An Israeli study identified a "higher-than-expected rate of heart problems" in young boys. Additionally, the vaccine’s impact on women’s menstrual cycles and reproductive health has raised concerns about potential links to miscarriages. These findings are compounded by official CDC data showing that millions of Americans reported adverse effects significant enough to disrupt their daily lives after receiving the vaccine. Even more alarming are reports of severe injuries and deaths directly linked to vaccination.

In a resurfaced interview with ABC News' This Week from September 2023, Fauci stated, “We have experience with this type of vaccine in billions of people. It's a safe vaccine. Of course, with the mRNA, there's a very, very, very low risk, particularly in young men, of getting myocarditis. But if you look at the risk of myocarditis from COVID itself, it is greater than the risk of the vaccine.”

Research indicates that myocarditis risks may be elevated in boys who received mRNA vaccines. A separate investigation in Nature reported a 25% increased risk of cardiac arrest and acute coronary syndrome in vaccinated individuals. The CDC claims that post-vaccination myocarditis cases are rare, but this contradicts the experiences shared by affected families.

28-year-old professional basketball player, Oscar Cabrera, died from a heart attack while undergoing a stress test. In a resurfaced social media post, Cabrera reportedly attributed his myocarditis to the Pfizer vaccine, expressing frustration about the mandatory vaccination requirements for professional athletes. He stated, “I got a damn myocarditis from putting a f*cking vaccine. (I got 2 doses of Pfizer) And I knew it! Many people warned me. But guess what? It was compulsory, or I couldn't work.”

The lack of discussion among medical professionals about vaccine-related myocarditis has sparked outrage for years. A San Diego nurse reported being fired after questioning why cases weren't being reported to the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS). “It was an unspoken thing that we were not allowed to talk about openly on the unit,” she said in 2022.

That same year, UK cardiologist Dr. Aseem Malhotra reevaluated his support for mRNA vaccines after his father's unexpected cardiac arrest. He warned of “unprecedented harms” linked to these vaccines and has called for a suspension of vaccinations until the raw data is independently reviewed. 

The Betrayal of Children

Perhaps the most unforgivable aspect of Fauci’s legacy was his role in supporting prolonged school closures, despite mounting evidence of their catastrophic effects on children. The data is now unquestionable: sustained school closures contributed to significant learning loss and exacerbated serious mental and health crises among children. Children from low-income families suffered the most, often lacking access to online learning resources or safe environments at home. This is especially egregious given that children were not at high risk for Covid complications in the first place.

Fauci’s support for school closures—even as other countries reopened their classrooms with minimal consequences—revealed a stunning disregard for the well-being of America’s youth. Worse, the CDC’s reliance on input from teachers’ unions, rather than scientific data, further politicized the issue. Fauci’s refusal to advocate for reopening schools sooner cemented his role in one of the greatest educational and developmental setbacks in modern history.

Ading to the pain of his policies, some hospitals implemented measures that separated parents and children in their most critical moments, such as after birth or during pediatric treatments, citing Covid protocols. These restrictions caused deep psychological trauma for families, especially for newborns and young children who were deprived of crucial bonding time with their parents. Such measures starkly contradicted the data showing that children were at minimal risk and revealed a callous disregard for the emotional and developmental needs of families.

Ongoing Economic Devastation

Under Fauci’s guidance, the federal government imposed sweeping lockdowns that crippled small businesses, destroyed livelihoods, and fueled unprecedented economic inequality. While large corporations like Amazon and Walmart thrived, small businesses—the backbone of the American economy—were decimated. Entire industries, particularly hospitality and entertainment, faced ruin.

Fauci’s support for these policies persisted even as their shortcomings became evident. Lockdowns failed to contain the virus in any meaningful way and instead created a host of secondary crises: surging unemployment, mental health deterioration, substance abuse, and a rise in domestic violence. Fauci’s inability to adapt to emerging data—or consider the broader consequences of his recommendations—revealed a one-dimensional approach to crisis management that we're still paying the price for in 2025.

His Net Worth Nearly Doubled During The Pandemic

While over 400,000 small businesses closed their doors permanently during the pandemic, Anthony Fauci’s net worth nearly doubled, growing from $7.5 million to $12.6 million. “While Dr. Fauci has been a government bureaucrat for more than 55 years, his household net worth skyrocketed during the pandemic,” CEO of OpenTheBooks, Adam Andrzejewski, said. “Fauci’s soaring net worth was based on career-end salary spiking, lucrative cash prizes awarded by non-profit organizations around the world, and an ever-larger investment portfolio.”

Fauci also earned one million dollars from foreign non-profit groups, including the Dan David Foundation which gave him a cash prize of 1 million dollars for “speaking the truth.” “Despite becoming a figure of controversy, the system has rewarded Dr. Fauci handsomely,” Andrzejewski added. “For example, he is the top-paid federal employee, his first-year golden parachute retirement pension is the largest in federal history, and he’s accepting $1 million prizes from foreign non-profits.”

In addition to his income, disclosures showed an increase of $910,174 within the Fauci stock, bond, and money market portfolio. The top-paid federal employee earned cash compensation of $3.7 million from his employer between 2010 and 2020. Dr. Fauci’s wife, Christine Grady, has made nearly $2 million in cash compensation since 2015. In 2022, Dr. Fauci will be making more than the president thanks to his nice salary of $480,000. He's also expected to receive about $1 million in his first three years of retirement since he is currently entitled to receive $350,000 per year in pensions.

As small business owners lost their livelihoods and millions of Americans struggled to make ends meet, Fauci’s financial success highlights a glaring disconnect between the hardships faced by the public and the privileges enjoyed by those in power.

Elitism, Arrogance, and "Conspiracy"

Fauci’s public persona often exuded an air of arrogance, epitomized by his infamous claim that criticism of him was equivalent to criticism of science itself. This attitude stifled necessary debate and created a climate of fear among scientists and public officials who dared to question the prevailing narrative. Fauci’s shifting goalposts on herd immunity thresholds and dismissal of the lab-leak theory further eroded public confidence.

The cult of personality surrounding Fauci—promoted by a corporate media eager to protect him—created an environment where dissent was equated with ignorance or conspiracy. This elitism not only alienated skeptics but also fueled polarization and made it nearly impossible to build consensus around better solutions.

The timing of Fauci’s pardon raises serious questions about the administration’s motives. The sheer volume of last-minute pardons suggests a recognition of widespread guilt among public officials in his administration. These actions imply that those in power were not only aware of their failures but also actively sought to shield themselves from accountability.

Granting Fauci a pardon is more than an insult to the millions of Americans harmed by his decisions; it also sets a precedent that government officials can preside over catastrophic failures without fear of accountability.
