Evie’s Fall Bucket List (And How To Do It In Style)

Fall is filled with lots of fun activities you should get on your list of to-dos. And because fall fashion is possibly the most fun season to dress for, we’ve included outfits too.

I’ve never met anyone who professed to dislike fall. I mean, what’s not to like? The weather cools down, but it’s not so cold that you want to spend every waking moment indoors. The leaves change colors (unless you’re from Southern California in which case they don’t really. I know, bummer).

And there are also endless seasonal activities to choose from. So I made a list of some of my favorite options for this time of year, and to take off some of the heavy lifting of the ever-present “what should I wear?” dilemma, I killed two birds with one stone and also gave you some fall outfit inspiration. Warning: this article could lead to a fall-themed Pinterest spiral.

Apple Picking

Apple picking is the perfect, fun fall activity. You get to enjoy the process, get cute photos, and afterward get enjoy the fruits of your labors. And what better to do all that in than in an adorable corduroy jumper? The one from Kiel James Patrick comes adorned with embroidered apples. I know, perfect. Or hey, if that doesn’t suit you. There’s always this sweater.

Hayride

Who doesn’t love a good hayride? Especially if you have kids to bring along, this is a must for fall. If you like a thrill, go for a haunted one. But you’ll find me calmly sipping my cider on the traditional route. (In my cute autumnal-colored sweater, of course.)

Pumpkin Patch

The pumpkin patch is a classic. It really just isn’t fall if I don’t make it to one. If you want to take your fall style a bit out of the box, try a fiddler cap. An accent color can be super fun, or you could try a neutral that’s a little more versatile.

Football

Whether you want to get outside with your family and play a little ball or you’d rather watch the game, football is a great pastime during the fall months. The more you learn about it, the more fun it will be! A vest to keep you warm over leggings and a chunky sweater is the perfect look for playing. Or if you’re just watching, you can show your spirit for your favorite team.

Bake a Special Fall Treat

There’s just something special about baking in the fall. Whether you’re working with pumpkins or apples, there are so many seasonal treats to get excited about! So put on your apron and get to work. After all, you have to use those apples you picked earlier!

Bonfire

Who doesn’t love sitting around a bonfire and roasting marshmallows? Seriously, if you meet someone who doesn’t like them, let me know. You can stay up all night talking and have a fire to keep you warm. Plus if you have a fire pit, it’s the perfect excuse to invite people over. And to keep yourself even more toasty, make sure you’ve got your favorite turtleneck at the ready.

Go Jump in a Pile of Leaves

Embrace your inner child and jump into a pile of leaves. If you can’t find a pile, jumping on them to hear the crunchy sound will have to suffice. For a fun fall-themed pop of color, a barn coat is the perfect addition to your typical sweater and jeans.

Attend a Local Thanksgiving Day Parade

The Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade will be back this year, with in-person viewing and all. So even if you don’t have a local Thanksgiving Day parade you could attend, it’s worth turning on the tv. And if you have a cute poncho to do it in, all the better.

Thanksgiving Dinner

Thanksgiving dinner is the perfect excuse to dress up a bit. If you aren’t able to go home to your family (I’m in the same boat at college this year), I promise that cooking up a few dishes that remind you of home will make all the difference. And a pretty fall dress with the perfect blazer also just might help to perk you up a bit. Even if only you will see it.

Have a Movie Night

Break out the classic fall movies. Halloweentown, anyone? Or just turn on the Hallmark channel. You know how it goes: They fall in love while at her grandparent’s apple orchard. The bank almost takes it away, but the town comes together to save it after the guy she didn’t like at first tells people about the problem. It’s great every time. And a warm-colored monochrome lounge set is the perfect look for staying comfy while you watch, while looking chic at the same time.

Go on a Hike

Fall is an amazing time to get outdoors. The scenery is beautiful, and you won’t have to sweat buckets in the sweltering heat. A big fuzzy sherpa jacket is a must for this active outing if there’s a bit of chill in the air. Pro tip: Fill up a thermos with some hot cocoa for a treat when you reach your destination (or for leisurely sipping along the way, I don’t discriminate).

Closing Thoughts

If this list of fall activities didn’t get you excited for it to start, I don’t know what will. And if you’re just dying to wear these outfits, it’s luckily the perfect time to do a little shopping since stores are bringing in their fall stock. Go pick apples, go on a hayride, play or watch some football, do some baking. Make the most of the fall season ahead because it will be over before you know it!
