Early 2000s Fashion Is Back, And We’re Here For It

Do you remember the early 2000’s? Even if you don’t, you can still have fun feeling nostalgic over the memorable looks of this era. Take a walk down memory lane by watching "Mean Girls" on DVD, I mean Netflix, and remember the fun fashions of those times.

Here are some styles making a comeback that are so fetch, you'll be obsessed. (I know, stop trying to make fetch happen...)

The Fuzzy Sweater

Do you remember fuzzy sweaters (and those mini nylon Prada purses)? Raquel Natasha is killing it in her adorable sweater from Revolve. It’s sweet as sugar and a little less pricey than that designer purse.

Big Barrettes

Before everyone wore extensions in their hair, they wore big barrettes. If you’re looking for a cheap way to add just a pop of early 2000s to your look, there couldn’t be a better way to do it than with these hair accessories.

The Matching Set

So cute and classy, I wouldn’t be surprised if we see matching sets return for fall. But it looks as if not everyone wants to wait until then. Think about wearing this to the office — you know, when we’re allowed to go back to offices.

Tie-Dye

Tie-dye is back in a big way, and we’re here for it. From cute tops like the one from Urban Outfitters shown here, to swimwear, sweatshirts, and just about everything else, it's the ultimate casual trend of the season.

Pink Lip Gloss

Pink lip gloss is such a universal color. It looks good on every skin tone. Lancome even recently re-launched a classic early aughts favorite—Juicy Tubes.

Pastels

Pastels are the perfect look for summer. If you don’t want to go full-on 2000s consider pastel shoes, handbags, or even a blazer, as pictured here.

Wearing Pink

It doesn’t have to be Wednesdays for you to wear pink right now. Whether you’re wearing a sweatshirt or silk top, this look is yummier than a cupcake covered in icing!

Statement Hats

It’s hard to feel unhappy if you’re wearing a statement hat. It’s also a great way to protect your face and hair if you’re out in the sun.

Colorful Socks

Colorful socks are a great addition to any casual outfit or even activewear. It’s also an instant way to add a whimsical touch to your look.

Fendi Baguette

Carrie Bradshaw would totally be jealous right now! More Sex & The City than Mean Girls, the Fendi Baguette is a great investment. Comfortable and stylish, why lug around a big bag if you don’t have to?

T-Shirt, Blazer, and Jeans

Look like a boss babe in any era! Here’s Kaia Gerber looking like a spitting image of her mom, Cindy Crawford, in this '90s/2000s inspired outfit. Better yet, it’s an easy look that anyone can emulate.

Chihuahuas As Fashion

Remember The Simple Life and when Paris Hilton was essentially who Kylie Jenner is now? Even if you don’t, perhaps you remember her late Chihuahua, Tinkerbell. Well, clearly the newest Real Housewife of New York, Leah McSweeney, was inspired — channeling the queen of all influencers with her new pup, Angel Marie Cristofaro-McSweeney.

Sheer Tights

It’s easy to see through Kylie Jenner’s newest accessory, these sheer tights. While they aren’t exactly shower-appropriate, they do make a great addition to any business outfit.

Choker

Reese Witherspoon recently posted this late '90s/early 2000s throwback pic. Wearing this choker inspired by Jared Leto, it’s not hard to wonder if Clare Danes is jealous? Either way, it’s safe to say life turned out pretty darn good for all three of these icons.

Tiny Purse

Who better to highlight an early 2000’s trend than controversial influencer Caroline Calloway? She’s currently is in Florida rocking her tiny Dauphinette bag. She completes the throwback look complete with a daisy cropped knit cardigan and skirt.

Closing Thoughts

There’s never been a better time to be a throwback.
