Controversial Mom On TikTok Goes Viral For Letting Her Young Kids Do Things That "Others Don't Agree With"
@theamazingmara posted a controversial video on TikTok of the unconventional things she allows her kids to do. The clip has garnered 6.3 million views and many duets from other moms who are in disagreement with some of the things Mara enables.

Mara shared her video on TikTok that she captioned: "Things I do as a parent that others don't agree with." She then plays a series of clips of the unconventional things that she allows her children to do: Mara apparently lets them drink coffee and walk around barefoot everywhere! She also doesn't have any food restrictions for them. She lets her son wear dresses, eat sand, and allows her daughter to shave her head. Marbles are also okay in her household – something that most parents try to keep away from their young kids (it is a choking hazard, after all). And, to top it all off, Mara doesn't make her kids share either!
Mara's children look incredibly happy and free – but, as expected, some of the commenters don't agree with her lax parenting.
"Not the coffeeeeee. They're just little kids," @a6b06 says. "Barefoot in public? Germs aside the broken glass and medal would concern me," added @jeanniemari360.
Others decided to show their support instead. "The coffee and the bare foot is a little too much, but other than that, you are a good mama," shares Emma Anderson.
Is Coffee and Going Barefoot Really That Serious?
The American Academy of Pediatrics currently does not recommend caffeinated drinks for children under the age of 12. Too much caffeine can cause an increase in anxiety, heart rate, blood pressure, and sleep disturbances. Another study shows that caffeine consumption from coffee was associated with depression.
As for going barefoot, there are many sharp objects on the ground that kids can step on. There are, of course, germs and parasites as well. With all of this being said, what do you think about Mara’s video? Would you allow your kids to do some of these things?
