Chris Rock Finally Has Something To Say About Will Smith Slapping Him At The Oscars, And He's "Still Kind Of Processing What Happened"

Hardly anybody remembers who won the major awards at the 2022 Academy Awards because everything was overshadowed by an altercation between two A-list celebrities.

Chris Rock took to the stage to present the award for Best Documentary. He made an innocent joke about Jada Pinkett Smith's hairstyle. "Jada, I love ya," he said with a smile. "GI Jane 2, can't wait to see it."

Will Smith initially laughed, but when the cameras turned away he got up out of his seat and walked on the stage. That's when he slapped Chris square in the face. Since then, Will has apologized, and Jada has spoken out on her Instagram that it's "a season for healing," but we had yet to hear from Chris. Until last night.

Chris Rock Responded to the Situation at His Show in Boston

Chris Rock, 57, took to the stage at The Wilbur last night in Boston, where he was met with roaring applause. He apparently received a standing ovation before he even began his set.

"What's up, Boston?" he said to the crowd. "How was your weekend?!"

That's when he jumped straight into what happened at the Oscars, but he didn't go into too much detail.

“I'm still kind of processing what happened, so at some point I'll talk about that,” he said. “And it'll be serious and it'll be funny, but right now I'm going to tell some jokes."

Chris made it clear that he hasn't "talked to anyone, despite what you heard." People are speculating that he was referring to some comments that Sean 'Diddy' Combs made when he told Page Six that Will and Chris reconciled. "It's all love," Diddy said. "They're brothers."

Chris continued with his comedy show, telling the crowd, "Except for a couple weird things, life is pretty good right now.”

That was the end of it, though. We know that Chris declined to press charges when he was approached by the LAPD. "The incident involved one individual slapping another. The individual involved has declined to file a police report. If the involved party desires a police report at a later date, LAPD will be available to complete an investigative report," the LAPD said in an official statement.

Whenever Chris does speak in detail about what happened at the Academy Awards, we're sure it will be both hilarious and revealing.
