China's Silent Mission To Destroy America’s Economy

When the Western world opened up trade with Communist China, we had hoped that economic liberalization would lead them down the road to political liberalization. Unfortunately, that hope has proven to be nothing but a pipe dream.

Not only do we see how the growth of China’s wealth from economic liberalization didn’t lead to political liberalization, but we can also witness how China is, in fact, doing the opposite as they work to undermine freedom around the world through waging economic warfare.

I recently saw an article claiming China was planning to exploit the current coronavirus pandemic in order to destroy the American economy. While I can’t seem to find other hard evidence to back up this claim (especially since China’s own economy is in the tank — even if they’re trying to pretend that everything is fine), there is a long history of Communist regimes, including China, who have actively waged economic warfare against America in their quest to hurt the U.S.’s free market economy.

It has only been a decade since China passed Japan to become the world’s second-largest economy after America. But in that short 10 years, the world has suffered the brunt of China’s economic success as it flexes its economic power in order to compel the globe (including America) into submission. How did this happen?

China’s Silent Mission To Become the World’s Superpower

One of the most interesting books you can read about China's secret strategy to replace America as the global superpower is Dr. Michael Pillsbury’s The Hundred Year Marathon. In his book, Dr. Pillsbury mentions that one of the reasons why everyone in the free world was caught off guard by China’s growing authoritarian reach was because the views of the anti-Western, anti-freedom, political war hawks in the Chinese Communist Party were concealed from outsiders.

The members of the Chinese Communist Party (the men with political power) answer to no one except the party itself.

As you should already know, the Chinese Communist Party operates under the darkness of opacity, meaning that unlike the free and open elections we have in the West where our representatives have to answer to their constituents who elected them, the members of the Chinese Communist Party (the men with political power) answer to no one except the party itself.

Unlike in America, where we’re able to scrutinize every single action taken by our elected politicians to almost tabloid-like details (like how President Trump wanted the White House’s chefs to replicate his favorite food — the McDonald’s quarter pounder), no one really knows what goes on inside the Chinese regime.

America Is Ignoring the China Threat

What is even more troubling is how Americans seem to refuse to admit and discuss China as a Communist power. China’s economy is largely state-controlled, including its largest companies, hence it is consistent with a Socialist society under political Communism. Because we turn a blind eye to this reality, we have duped ourselves into believing that China is following the global trend of a free market economy.

No one in the Chinese Communist Party has ever stated that they had any intention to open up and democratize their political system.

When Dr. Pillsbury’s The Hundred Year Marathon was translated and published in China, it was only available to be purchased and read by high-level officials in the Chinese regime. Some of these officials whom Dr. Pillsbury formerly worked with told him that no one in the Chinese Communist Party had ever stated that they had any intention to open up and democratize their political system. It was the Americans who came to that conclusion themselves, and the Chinese regime just allowed the U.S. to continue along on their delusions that China would open up to democracy.

Communism Hates Capitalism and Thus Seeks To Destroy It

One of the craziest things about America today is how Bernie Sanders is one of the frontrunners for the U.S. Presidency. It’s crazy because he is openly a proud Socialist. Take a guess on who else happens to also be a proud Socialist? If you said "President" Xi, then you are correct. Xi Jinping of China frequently touts the glory and superiority of Socialism over Capitalism.

In his mission to destroy American Capitalism, Xi Jinping once proclaimed "the eventual demise of Capitalism and the ultimate victory of Socialism must be a long historical process." Make no mistake, China is not a Capitalist society in any form whatsoever. A lot of Bernie supporters who hate Capitalism like to claim that China is a form of an unholy alliance between Capitalism and authoritarianism.

But even Xi Jinping disagrees with American socialists about how China isn’t “real Socialism.” In his 2013 speech, Xi argued, "Socialism with Chinese characteristics is Socialism," and not state Capitalism or any mixture of the two systems. Understand this, Capitalism doesn’t really care if Communism exists because Capitalism just wants to be left alone so it can make a profit. Communism, on the other hand, cannot and will not tolerate the existence of Capitalism, and hence it will seek to destroy the Capitalist economy.

Just because the Communist regime is focused on oppressing their own people in China does not mean that they lack the desire to also oppress people all over the world.

When assessing how China can overthrow American Capitalism, Xi stated: "We must profoundly understand the self-regulating ability of Capitalist society, fully appraise the objective reality of the long-term advantage of Western developed countries in the economic, scientific and military spheres and conscientiously prepare for all aspects of long-term cooperation and struggle between the two social systems.”

Closing Thoughts

We in America would be wise to remain vigilant in regard to the totalitarian nature of Chinese Communism against our values and freedoms. Just because the Communist regime is focused on oppressing their own people in China does not mean that they lack the desire to also oppress people all over the world.

Xi Jinping is adamant that his Chinese Communist Party adheres to what he calls the “lofty ideals of Communism.” If you’re unaware, the title of the Socialist (and Communist) anthem is "The Internationale” because “the lofty ideals of communism” are ideally spread internationally. And one way Communism spreads is by destroying the American economy through the undermining of our Capitalist system.
